I was talking to my friend Friday night about her wedding plans as she is getting married June this year. I asked her if she was all ready for the big day and she said 'Er not really!!' She asked me if I'd looked at anything yet and I told her I've looked at dresses, venues, chose our colour schemedecided our guest list, and loads more! She laughed at me and said 'You're keen aren't ya, I've only just sorted out the guest list and I haven't got my dress sorted yet. I haven't even got the bridesmaids dresses yet as we haven't decided on a colour scheme!!'
I thought maybe we were planning a little too early?? xx

nope you can never plan to early the ealier you plan the more time you have to relax and not stress and the last min when youve not got anything, you know what you want for your day so you go ahead and do what you think is right and you never know you might get good discounts on veunes etc cos your doing it so much in advance xx

if naything Ithink your friend is cutting it a bit fine! :) Dresses take about 6 months to get sorted sometimes so she is leaving it pretty much last minute! The earlier you plan the better bargains you can spot! :)

My H2b thinks I planned it too early 1 year before!! lol

Got 7 months to go and to be honest if I worked hard for a week it would be all done now.

But chill, nothing wrong with being prepared early - if something goes wrong you have time to fix it, and theres less rushing and less stress plus you get the stretch all the wedding fun out for longer! lol

Nope you can never plan too early, wish i was sorted only booked the photographer and ordered dress, hopefully booking venue at the weekend. The more you get done now the less stress you'll have closer to the day. Plus all your prices will be frozen to this years prices and wont go up closer to the time. Most thing's go up over the years, just one hint if you book anything now make sure you get it in writing that the price is frozen as my friend booked her venue 23 months before the date and never and they tried to charge her the new prices. Good luck

We're getting married in June 2012 and have started planning. We're only deciding our options and taking our time with things to make sure that it's perfect and that we've looked into every possibility rather than rushing through things and panicking x

Never can plan too early,as you want all the things available on the same day! Drawback with planning so early is the places or things you want to book havnt got a 2012 diary yet!!

Mine's not til 2016. We won't be able to book the wedding we want til 8 months before the wedding (disney florida), but we know what we we want, when, were and with whom. The only things we have to personally shop for are outfits. I've already spotted the most gorgeous regal wedding gown. Some people may say I'm planning to far in advance, but I've never seen a gown like it. I'm hoping to get it this summer! :)

Hunnie its different for everyone! I dont think I could ever be so laid back im still a year and a half away and nearly everythinghas some form in my mind and we are simply finalising and booking now I do however keep changing my mind but I love the luxury that I have the time to do that..imagine remebering your big day and wishing you had more time to do this or change that..if its right for you go right ahead and enjoy it!

    Hey Niks,
I don't think it's too early to start planning at all hun. We're getting married in 2012 too and have got sooo many things organised already - now it's just a case of paying for them all!! Atleast this way, come this time next year, hopefully most things will be sorted and paid for ..... then I can sit back and relax a little :0)

A few places have also kept 2011's prices for us, so its worked out a little bit cheaper than it should of done!
    So keep planning! xx

I got my wedding planning book the day after Pete proposed! We're looking at August / September 2012. I've got the guest list written up, I know what book I want to use for the guest book, the grooms party and the brides party organised, all my venue questions listed and a selection of venues I want to look at, an idea of the favours I want to get and starting to plan my Hen night..... well getting ideas to strongly hint at to my CB lol. Nothing is set in stone but I plan to enjoy the organising side, the day is over far too quickly! And I love going to wedding fairs! hehe. Nope never too early to get organised. Cx

Ooooo talking of guests books, has anyone seen that guest photo signing frame??? Its a frame with a pic of you in the middle and your guests sign around it instead of in a book. Then you change the pic to a wedding one and hang it up as a brilliant keepsake. Was on a site the other day but cant remember which one :-(

i dont think it every to earliy to start planning, H2B asked me last feb and we not getting married till may 2011, and most stuf is either booked, had deposit payed or been sourced, when it comes to venues and cars they get booked up at least a yr in advance so if u have a certain date u want its always best to plan ahead, your mate pob said that coz she started to panic that she isnt organised enough xxx

no its definately not too early to plan. i booked my venue, photographer & florist in aug/sept last year and i have now started sourcing dresses, invites and everything else.

i have also provisionally sorted my guest list & table plan. i have the theory that i will sort the big things first then work my way down the list.

If you plan this early, you have less to do at the last minute, you have more of an idea of how much things cost so are prepared for the bills and probably MOST importantly, once you have your plans in place you have more time to chat on here... its addictive!! lol xxxx

Thing is, you don't actually have to BUY the stuff until closer to the time, if you don't want to. But when it does come round, you'll know exactly what you like, what you want and it'll be far less stressful.

Or, you can build stuff up slowly from now until then, as long as you have somewhere to store it all!

Never too early to start planning, Im not getting married until august 2012 but I have just booked the church and reception venue, it's best to do this early to save disappointment, it's suprising how places get booked up so quickly. I've already done the ceremony guest list although have not finalised the reception list. Catering quotes have already been looked into and I have started buying little things like gifts, decs etc. Maybe too early to buy outfits as sizes could change in that time but everything else is a def yes xxxxx

It's never too early to start planning we're getting married in Sept 2011 and have already booked and paid a deposit on the venue (same place for ceremony and reception). We have secured this price and have even managed to negotiate free room hire for the ceremony as we have booked soo far in advance! We have chosen our colour scheme and even done our table plan! We have just sent out save the date cards as we want the people we have invited to come so have given them plenty of notice and will send invitation out nearer the time.
It also means that we won't be rushed towards the end and can use this time to find the best suppliers for our day.

Good luck with your planning xxx
