So as I've just booked my hair and make-up and have been thinking about what styles I want, I was wondering, is your fiancé going to see your hair before the big day?

I think mine will, as obviously after my trial I want to keep it in as long as possible to make sure it all stays put, however if I could I would like to avoid him seeing it. If I can I might see about stopping at a friends or at my mums house on the night of the trial, but we'll see how that goes as it could be a bit tricky.

Or his stag is on the 30th May.... is that too soon to have the trial? for 8th August wedding. They did also say about having my hair done before a fitting so I could see the whole look together.

If you are worried or don't want him to see it, I would say his stag is the ideal opportunity!

I'm not bothered about my H2B seeing my hair/make up, in fact I'd appreciate his opinion.
He will not get to see the dress before the big day though, so won't get the full effect until i'm walking down the aisle.

I'm not too bothered about oh seeing my make up but I'd like him not to see my hair so I'm planning on having it done early one day at my moh house and staying there all day x

I'll see how things go closer to the time, I'd rather arrange it so he didn't see it. Although if I can't arrange where he can't see it then I won't get upset about it.

I'll try and do it when he has his stag, but it will depend if the hairdressers are free and if someone can go with me, I won't want to go on my own.

i know what you mean Donna, I'd like my whole finished look to be a surprise on the day for my OH too. He works 12hr shifts (both days and nights) so may try to arrange my trials for when he's on days so I can leave hair up all day and see how make up lasts too lol xx

My oh wouldn't rememebr what my hair would look like tbh it's not something he takes an interest in and prob wouldn't even notice lol. I had a pre trial trial if you like for our engagement party last year and afterwards asked what he thought of my hair he said hmm it's they way it always is UP cheeky pig it's normally tied back in a pony.

I would rather my OH not see my hair but hey, if he does he does

The salon I went to took my "hairdo" apart again after my trial, so nobody could tell how I was having my hair. I did however leave with masses of hairsprayed wavy hair lol

Mine have suggested I go for my trial and then have it done again before a dress fitting so I can see it all together.

I didn't think taking it apart was the best idea as you want to know that it will last all day

I would not let them take it apart, as part of the trial is for you to feel happy that's going to last, I know a few who have had trials and after a couple hours it starts deflating, so had to have a second trial and put loads more spray etc to keep it in place. I want to know it's going to last and not look a mess after a few hours.

I don't think I would want my OH seeing. He has great attention to detail and as a barber he loves all things hair and really notices those kind of things! I don't think its a definite no no though, it's up to you what you want him to see and what you don't :) my OH has seen my shoes but I think that's all he will be seeing!! X

I'm having my hair trial on Saturday, and, like Whovianbride, I doubt my H2B will remember what it looks like and he won't see the full effect until the big day anyway. I've just told him to stay out of the wardrobe (even though his clothes are kept in the wardrobe in our spare bedroom) because my veil is in there ready for the hair trial and I don't want him to see it!

I think you should have it done on the morning of your dress fitting and make a day of it with whoever your going to your fitting with, go for lunch and a few cocktails or plan something else in that day too so you can make the most of it. or can you not have it done on the morning of your hen do? x

I joked about having it done before a night out... but wouldn't want it for something like the hen do as there will be a lot of photo's taken, I wouldn't want loads of pictures of my hair and then the same on the day (I know people probably wouldn't notice, but it would feel a little weird.) If I can I might look at having my hair done for my hen by my hairdresser anyway but having a different style, I don't know if I'll be able to though as we're having a two day thing and I'll be working until 3 on the first day... so a two night thing I should say really lol

I like the idea of having it the day of my dress fitting and then going out for drinks and a meal or something though :)

I'm having my first dress fitting on Saturday. I though about arranging a hair trial for my next fitting to see it put together, but I'm the same and want it in all day to see if it lasts, but Oh not to see it too! My trouble is that his stag do is a Sunday after valentines day (I didn't want him to go for his stag on vtines lol) and comes back the Monday, but the salon will be closed on the Sunday :/ I don't know what to do :/ I think my OH would remember what it looked like, maybe not to every detail but majority of it.

Have you got a friend you could arrange a girly night with? I'm considering doing that if I don't have it on his stag. They can come with you to the trial and then you stop at theirs and have a drink, some nibbles and watch some films?

I had my trial quite a way in advance so that I could confirm the booking with the hair and make-up artists. It was March/April I think for an August wedding. The only issue would be if you are planning to lose a lot of weight which might make your face look different. I only left mine in for about half an hour before taking it out to see my OH. It felt secure enough that I didn't feel the need to leave it in to be confident.

No have it done on the stag, he won't see it then and also you can have a little time to change your mind and have a retrial if you like. I'm doing my own makeup on the day and it'll be how I normally have it so I can't imagine my h2b will be in awe of my face.... But then again he does surprise me.;)
