As the title says, who is giving you away? i know the tradition is your dad but thats not always possible. I'm having my son walk me down the aisle he will be 11 then and is actually looking forward to it! he even wanted to be bestman, hold the rings and do a speech lol can't fault his enthusiasm :) x

ive been going round in circles on this one my biological sperm doner is just a disgusting person i havent met him since i was 11 and he knocked on the door to tell me to my face that i was "the biggest mistake he ever made" charmer dont know why he bothered he left when i was 6 months so i didnt have aclue who he was lol my lovely step dad unfortunately passed when i was 17 and my then step dad also died a few months later (mum and step daddy 1 had split several years earlier but we all stayed on good terms and was always in my life) my mums new bloke is an idiot so hes lucky to even be invited! really wanted my uncle but he has said he is not well enough which i totally understand i have 4 brothers so cant choose one of them i had considered my son and although he would love it i think he would struggle with his autism and it wouldnt help keep me calm either then i realised i had one person who has been through everything with me through good and bad shared magic moments and always brought me back up if i was down and so it seems more than perfect to choose them so now the person who will give me away is my mummy :) which will prob result in lots of giggling !! (omg just realised my life sounds like eastenders when written like that pmsl)
One BIG day will lead to lots of little happy days !!

aww brilly thats lovely! bet he will be the proudest guest in attendance too!!. with the second proudest being your son! its a great job for a little boy i would have gone with my son who is seven but after talking to him he thought he would rather take the rings to the best man as he didnt think he would like to many people staring at him bless him but im sooo happy its going to be my mum she is staying in the hotel with me the night before too and lately we havent been together as much as we normally were mainly because her idiot fiance winds me up lol so its a great opportunity to spend some time together (assuming her idiot blike lets her mind he has already threatened to stay over too i think NOT! )

Thank you Laura I was bubbling like a baby reading the messages but its also brought alot of closure on a few other issues too :) and bless your son he still has a very important job to do infact I would say more important than giving you away and Im sure he will do an amazing job, as for you and your mam its great that you will get to spend time together and if her other half says hes staying just tell him your mams sharing your room with you so theres no room for him the bloody cheek of him even to come out with it aswell x

Brilly could you pop the link to the psychic group on my wall please.
I lost my dad to cancer June 2011, so it will be my mum for me, this is also my reasoning for not doing a Lot of the traditional things eg I'm not having a church wedding as my dad can't walk me down the aisle, we aren't having a wedding breakfast, we are having speeches done at a different time as my dad can't do one etc etc, my h2b fully understands this I think he likes that we are a planning a celebration party of what we want than a traditional style wedding.
Velcro very funny ha haa.

when I was 18 brilly I was silly and did one on ouji board things with some people I didn't really know and not one of them knew my mum had died yet she 'came thru' I don't know or understand really what happened that night but its not something I really believed in if you get me, so don't know what to believe or not, think I just need to get the guts and see someone, itd be nice to know she is watching over me and my brothers/sisters and our children xx
CommentAuthorbrilly
I did a ouji board when I was younger and never touched it since they can be really dangerous especially if you dont know what your doing with it hun, I would definately go see one hun maybe ask around for some recommendations of ones friends or family may have used xx

My grandad is giving me away and i couldnt think of a finer, more respectable man to do it. My sperm doner doesnt even know my h2b or even know we are engaged and i intend it to stay that way.
