I know we have a few months yet but am trying to get the lists done, who do we buy thank you gifts for? I know we do best man, maid of honor, bridesmaids, flowergirls, page boys and ushers and my mum and dad as they are contributing but do I buy something for the mil? Even though I'm 99% sure she won't offer to help at all! x

We're just doing Best Man, Bridesmaid and Flowergirl. When I asked my Mum about it that's what we agreed. We're having fire buckets with flowers in so she said Mums, Gran and Nan can take one of those and we'll encourage people to take the millions of jam jars we've decorated. We decided it would just get ridiculous otherwise as my original list of thank you gifts was quite long. H2B's Sister and Bro in Law did flowers for Aunties aswell so I'm really hoping that H2B's Aunties aren't expecting the same at our wedding!
Oh course you get your mil something as a thank you for making your husband who he is, the man you love.

The bridal party get gifts plus anyone else who has helped and not received payment for it. So we gave presents to my mum and dad, FIL (MIL passed away), bridesmaids, FG , best man and ushers.
If your FMIL isn't contributing at all with anything then maybe just a small bunch of flowers out of courtesy and just say it's for her"love and support".

We're buying gifts for our BMs, FG and BMAN and even though they haven't financially contributed we are also buying gifts for OH's mum and dad (my parents arent in the picture). The gift we're giving is something that I know they will love and its not only for OH to say thank you for being there for him but also for being there for me since OH and I met.

THanks ladies, unfortunatly my fil isn't here but I just remembered I've already ordered a bunch of flowers for the mil, not sure if I should do little extra for my parents because they have been there support wise form beginning where as mil will just turn up n proberlY have a moan about everything with the sils! ( such lovely family sometimes!!) but then don't want her getting all crabby if I give my parents more. So might do sow thing special for them and just not mention it when we give thank you gifts out x

Good idea :) I'm thinking might pay for them to go for a nice 3 course meal or weekend away or something, as they are having our daughters on the wedding night so thought it be something nice for them to have after x

We've got gifts for my parents, as they are helping financially, best man and bridesmaids. I've got BMs necklace and earring sets and popping them with a little 'survival kit', got best man personalised chess board and snooker chalk as he's into those sports and my parents have personalised wine glasses with their names, date of wedding and role engraved on plus a weekend away in Dorset in September for my mum's birthday. I will also sort out corsages for my mum/mother in law to wear on the day. Mother in law has not really been too interested and won't want to be made a show of so won't get her anything else. Plus as a token gift we have socks for the men with their roles on.
