Right I'm having a problem with where to seat my step mother, I would like her at the top table but my dad is the only one who has remarried. So does anyone have an idea of where I could seat her to on the top table? ok now I don't get married until 2018 so have a long time but me being me wants to get as much done as I can so I can minimize my stress levels closer to the day lol. Thanks in advance xxx

If you want her at the top table then you can pop her there. If you don't feel comfortable her being on the top table then sit her on another family table.

We had my Stepmum and Stepdad on the top table. My Stepdad was one end next to the best man and my Stepmum was the other end next to my bridesmaid (her daughter, my half sister). My sister had them hosting their own table at her wedding.

Would it look wired if I put h2b family (his mum dad and best man) on his side and my family (mum, dad, step mum and matron of honour) on my side? I know its not traditionally where everyone sits but I suppose now a days you can sit who you want up there. xx

Don't worry about tradition. We had a totally untraditional top table for a western wedding but it was what we wanted. Have it how you want x

I'm having the same issue. Both parents on both sides of family have been separated and remarried so I just don't know whether to have actual parents on top table or none at all. There is just not enough to room to have them all on. I don't like the idea of splitting the couples up so I think I'm just going to have me and h2b along with our two boys, best man and MOH. You just do what you feel most comfortable with. I'm sure they will be ok wherever they go as two only usually for a couple of hours X

It is hard, I'm debating if I should have one of my sons on the table with us now as he will be only 3 when we get married and the other two will be 8 so can sit with my brother or someone. The moment I think I have the top table sorted I then keep thinking should I have so and so there too. My step mum wants to sit at the top table as I did ask if she wanted to or not, so cant say no to having her there now lol!! xxx

Sit her where ever you like hun. We are having a top table of 12 and there is nothing traditional about our seating plan at all. We all would not fit for starters. I asked my step mum where she would like to sit and she asked to be seated with my niece and nephews, so have respected her wishes. On my side I am having our will be 19month old, M.O.H, Dad, Mum and my mums partner. On my partners side is his will be 9yr old, best man, his dad, his mum and his mums partner. The bridesmaids, flowers girls and groomsmen will be on their own table.
