We're getting married in Maes manor in south wales. It's near to where I grew up but that's not why we chose it it was because it was our favourite venue we looked at.
21st September 2011 the day I became Mrs Davis!

We're getting married at The Stirk House in Gisburn, it's about 20 mins from my family's farm and an hour from where H2B and me live in Manchester. I've always wanted to get married in a country house hotel near the family home so it's perfect :) x
CommentAuthorXLittleMissMe!X
I had to answer in another county as technically it is although it is still only about 20 mins away from where we live. We live on the border of three counties so could have gone for any of them really. My partner grew up near Birmingham and I grew up in Derbyshire but we both live in Warwickshire now and are getting married in Leicestershire! We went for our dream venue that met all our needs rather than being tied down to location as both sides of the family will have to travel.
I'm getting married in Bartle Hall in Preston although I live in Wigan. We did look at local venues and even went as far as Blackburn and found nothing, they were either shared and not private or expensive. This one was perfect for us the moment we walked in and they gave us offers that made us snap it up.
The days are flying by, can't wait :)

we decided to get married and have our reception in Lyndhurst in the new forest. Wanted to marry in eygpt but cost was ultimate decider.Honeymooning there instead. :)

We are getting married and having the reception in the Crowwood Hotel as we would have to have got an annulment for my first marriage to get married in my h2b's local chapel and to be honest it was so complicated and costly (£700) where they conduct a tribunal where the ex is interviewed as to reasons for divorce etc and there was no way in hell that I'd allow that as he's such a liar, cheat, thief, many more words I can't put here plus the fact that at the end of the tribunal which could take up to 3 years (!) there was no guarantee that it would be agreed to annul the marriage. My parents church (church of scotland) would marry us without that but h2b would lose his sacrements and I'm not getting the blame of that! Hotel is lovely and they have just got a secret garden for photos, otherwise if weather is not good it overlooks a beautiful golf course. :-D

we're hoping to get married in the Cathedral in Lancaster as this is h2b's church now, and his family are all from Morecambe/Lancaster, and then hopefully we'll find a venue in the Lake District, preferably along Windermere as this is where I spent a lot of time as a kid coming from Barrow. When I got my first car at 18 I was there every weekend!
If we cant find a venue there, we may look around Coniston, or else somewhere in Grange as this is on the Bay, sort of inbetween Barrow and Morecambe!

The official stuff has to happen at a particular registry office, but 'our own' ceremony will be at a place yet to be decided not too far away (forest clearing would be ideal), and another ceremony abroad for his family and friends. If only it could be simple!!

My Chosen Venue: The Eden Project Rainforest Biome Why I chose this as my Venue; As it is perfect for the Green Queen That's Me Greenery Everywhere I look they even have a waterfall perfect back drop Its different Eco Friendly not a traditional church wedding I'm close to nature back to mother nature Its tranquil serene From the Tropical Islands to Malaysia and South America to West Africa, from mango groves and oil palms to bamboo plantations and a banana farm, come and behold the world’s largest greenhouse What more could i want for a venue but to have My Hubby to be by my side our friends and our families all having a good time getting down n dirty on the dance floor lol lots of great food drinks lots of picca just a fun memorable day for all Can you feel the Love?? Plus I am going to make a lil Rainforest Biome to put all my wedding stationary in for my guests as a keepsake also to give them a visual a vibe for where the wedding is going to be held So what you ladies think would you make a lil version of your venue as a keepsake and you can put all your wedding stationary inside to keep it safe one for each household they cant loose a Biome can they?? =D <3 X

MrsD2b - I love your venue! That is such a fantastic and original venue! I'm an ikkle bit jealous (would that make me the green eyed monster?! Lol!!)
You don't have to worry about it raining or if its cold, it'll be nice and warm in there! Well done you for choosing there.
I'm marrying a Speke Hall, a national trust property that is Tudor in age but Victorian in decor. It's only 3.5 miles from where we've bought our house together & it's beautiful. Our reception is only 2 miles from there, so things are nice & local for us :-)

I thought you could only have the ceromony in the rainforest bit, as they don't serve food in their and don't recommend you stay in their for more than 45 minutes because of the humidity? Or are you going to go to a different bit for the evening reception? It's an absolutely stunning venue whichever part you are using, I'm just curious because a friend was thinking of getting married there xx
