Does anybody know any nice venues for a wedding that allows outside catering?
In/around a radius of 75 miles from Sandwell West Midlands?

It's so annoying that most places don't allow outside catering. Its as if most of them think dollar signs when they hear the word wedding

Always worth asking though, I asked one venue and they said yes as long as I sorted it.

I don't think it's to do with weddings and seeing dollar signs to be honest. I think the places that don't allow outside catering wouldn't allow it for a christening or birthday party either... as it's usually to do with health and safety and reputation rather then wanting more money... at least that's the impression I've gotten anyway...

I know our venue don't allow outside caterers, but that would be the case whatever you were booking with them. Whereas weddings I have been to at places with function rooms where you can hire them out and put your own buffet on do the same if it's a Birthday party or whatever other celebration.

It's an actual outside caterer I don't want a function room or any of that I want a beautiful big house/castle venue but I don't like any of the food that most of the places I've had brochures for serve

You could speak to them about doing something more to your taste?

You need to speak to the venues and ask if they will either do something more catered to you or let you have outside caterers. What is it you actually want?

Things will probably change as well, we picked what we were planning on having last year and they've taken our starter and main meal off the menu now, so we've had to chose other things to try at our taster session.

I HATE with a passion all this gastro food and posh ridiculous things! I'm very fussy myself and would like too actually be able too eat on my wedding day my guests probably aren't as fussy but they do like propper good food if that makes sense

Usually social clubs, community halls, and event hire rooms allow outside catering.

I don't know your area but it is usually places that don't have their own restaurants or are hotels as they cannot offer catering. The only places I found that allowed outside catering were social clubs etc, as clairenina said above x

I think most venues that have on site caterers will expect you to use them. You wouldn take your car to a garage to be serviced and take your own mechanic! Your best bet will be a social club/village hall etc. you may have to consider what you want or don't want the most there are some beautiful village halls in the midlands.
