Hi all, my partner and I are getting married in August 2015. We haven't sorted out our invitations yet. I was wondering if you could give some advice on when we should send the invites out and also, is there anywhere you would suggest to go to have them done at a reasonable price. Many thanks, Roxanne xx

We ordered ours from an online company based in India. We ordered them in March and they arrived within a week and we have been handing them out as and when we see people.

showgirl could you stick a link on my wall to that company please xxx
Link is on your wall. Not a great website but they have some really nice cards. The prices are cheap but delivery is added on at the end and doesn't include import duty (I think I had to write a cheque to the courier company for £80 but that was for 25 of one style, 250 of another and additional inserts) so just bear that in mind if you decide to order from there.

Should probably mention that with delivery and import duty, the cost per card that we ordered still came to less than £1 each.

We wanted handmade individual unique ones that would go really well with the theme,we ordered ours from Etsy about 10months ago so they had time to make them and send them across from America, we sent them out at the 5month mark to the wedding,so about 6weeks ago with an RSVP date of 14th June which is 3 months before the wedding x

I handmade my save the date cards and sent them out as soon as i had finished them, and I am sending out my invitations 6 months before with a month for the RSVP's to be sent back (i'm just organised and would do it now if i could! haha) I have made them myself already, but the inserts i have lovely card that can be printed on with just a normal printer and writing it all myself on word and printing 2 out per A4 card :)

My friend has designed ours and used a printing company at a price of £68 for 45 day and 45 evening invitations. Stamps (100 2nd class) have cost us £53. Most people already know that they are invited as its family to the day and cousins and close friends to the evening and we are really late sending our invites due to ongoing arguments- ours will be sent this week with an RSVP 28th June.

We didn't do save the date cards but we're planning to send ours about 6 months before the wedding. We want something that goes with our theme so we have an appointment with a local company at the end of September to sort it out. We probably don't need to do it that early but I like to be organised and want to make sure they're ready in plenty of time.
H2B's Sister made her own save the dates, invites and orders of service and a friend at work bought hers from £ sh0p. She figured that it wasn't worth spending a lot of money on hers because they'd just get thrown away.

A lot of great ideas, thank you all. I'm not very artistic haha, although seen some lovely ones on the bay, so may message them and ask them to send me a sample :) x
