Pastels. It's springtime, it makes it easy to incorporate geeky elements and since the venue has a lot of black it'll help lighten the space up a bit. It also means we have plenty of scope to find colours which fit each aspect in the wedding. Both of us wanted a relaxed but colourful event.

Keeping it mainly to blue, yellow and a soft orange for flowers and dresses. Things like the chair sashes looked much nicer in a pale blue-toned lilac, the centerpiece candles are a very soft pink. If the colour is in the blossoms around the patio, we'll use it. :)

We're having purple and silver - the colours of our birthstones! Bridesmaid's dresses are going to be wearing purple dresses and silver shoes, I'm going to hopefully have white and purple flowers in my bouquet with silver threads or something like that. We went for a literature theme as I'm a trained English teacher and like my books!!!!

It's a Steampunk/Vistorian theme for us.
We chose it because we both love that era's style and Steampunk just looks amazing. It's quirky and fits our personality.
Our colours are ivory, gold, some chocolate, and smidges of duck egg blue. The first three are to stay true to the elegance of the Victorian era's fashion styles and also the industrial/mechanical feel of Steampunk, whereas the duck egg is my personality. It's one of my fave colours, so it had to be added. Haha.
Also, since we are bird keepers, we are also including birds in the theme. I'm having a custom guestbook made up featuring steampunk budgies and have bird cage items and feathers for my decorations.

We've got a seaside theme running through our celebrations as we both grew up by the sea and - as we have a soft spot for them - many of our dates have been to slightly run down British seaside towns.
Our little ceremony will be at the top of a lighthouse followed by dinner in a 12th century smuggling in. The big reception for friends is a huge beach picnic on a tiny island (the guests will be taken there by boat - we haven't told them yet, so that'll be a big surprise!). Finally, we're having a family meal for those not joining us at the ceremony in a smart restaurant on the end of a pier.
Flowers for the ceremony will be yellow with green succulents as the lighthouse sits in desert-like surroundings. Decor for the beach party is still tbc - but I imagine we'll go for a blue/white nautical theme.

We've picked pastel. It's spring time and each bridesmaid has different colouring so my flowergirl(5YO daughter) is in lemon, then I have a lilac, pink, baby blue and mint green bridesmaids.

We almost have the same colour scheme ZaraJane! My little flower girl will be in lemon too with my 4 adult bridesmaids in lilac, baby blue, mint green and peach instead of pink :)

We initially were going for Royal Blue. but I couldn't find any flowers to match this theme (both sets of parents currently have blue flowers growing in their garden after after my initial HELP!.
We decided that it was too difficult and that I would be heart broken on the day if they weren't right so decided to change it.
Me and OH were walking home from the pub and decided to make the decision. so we started singing "red and yellow and pink and green....." going through each colour saying whether it was an option or not. its ok to skip down a road singing when you're drunk :-)
OH liked red and purple. I liked Red (purple is my favourite colour but I thought its a bit much having as my favourite colour and wedding colour! I have purple everything!!!)
So we settled on Red.
Then started looking at months to get married in and settled on March or October/November. last October we were out walking and both saying how much we love October so made that decision then.
the Autumn month meant that we decided to go for a deep red (not burgundy) rather than a bright post box red.
that's our story :)

I'm not sure if we can have a theme. It is only going to be 6 of us, including me and oh. It just sounds like a lot of hassle for such a small , intimate do! Unless you guys have any suggestions? x

If you don't want one you don't have to have it. I guess for many brides its about having a certain consistent' look' for the whole day so all the elements tie in together but if it's a small intimate affair it is probably less important because there will be less things to be different.
You might find naturally you start to lean towards a particular colour and style.

We are having champagne gold and white as we are having a new years eve wedding, that being said I am worried it will be too bland. Anyone any suggestions on how to break it up a little bit without looking tacky? x

Yesterday we went to look at a a venue and we fell in love, I think we are pretty much set on the place, just need to double check we can get in the church we want. As it will be a spring wedding we've decided on gold, green and a blush pink :-) we got engaged in Venice so will have a very loose Italian theme too

On the previous page I said Hot Pink and Ivory but we are having a mixture of different shades of Pink with Ivory. Hot Pink/Raspberry Pink being the main colour with lighter pinks mixed in. Still having Roses as our theme. The BM dresses are Raspberry Pink and the FG dresses have Hot pink sashes with lighter pink mixed in so both will match my bouquet.
