our budget was £6000, for venue and catering, decoration, flowers and favours, which we pretty much kept to. Family have offered to pay for things such as bridesmaid dresses etc, so probably the wedding did cost a little more just we didn't pay for it! Lucky Really! Disco thrown in by venue so no need to pay for entertainment. My mum makes cakes and im tring to D.I.Y most things myself. so all on course.

    Our initial budget was £10,000

But my dad gave us some money, my sister paid for photography as a gift! Both unexpected so we got everything we wanted without worrying too much about cost.

Final total (without honeymoon as it's not booked yet) is just short of £19,500

We initially said our maximum budget was 10k & we have ended up at 10.5k so not massively over budget. This might go up slightly once the bridesmaid dresses arrive depending on alteration costs?? As the majority is now paid we are hoping to save enough so that all of our guests can have 2 free drinks each at the bar which will be around £600 max.
However we should have been under budget as my mum ended up buying my dress, dad paid for food, H2B's parents paid for our honeymoon (although honeymoon was never in our budget).

When we first started planning our wedding back in 2012, we just wrote a list without comprehending how we'd pay for it. It came out as nearly £17,000 :O We had no idea how we were going to pay for it, so after much nagging from me, we cancelled it completely and thought about what we really wanted.

We're not really comfortable with churches and sit down meals in big hotels, so we have booked City Hall and will have a served buffet in a nightclub space within a hotel in the city centre - we've managed to bring the budget down to £8,500. I am so proud of this. If we don't need it, why pay for it?

We started off at £5k then it went up to £12k but after some budgeting we've got it down to £9k with help from family we are paying £6k. It's hopefully the only time either of us are going to do this so we want it to be perfect and a lot of our budget is on entertainment, band, photographer etc

Our budget for the wedding itself was 10k and thanks to a combination of finding the right people and "if you don't ask, you don't get" we have negotiated a lot of good deals, we have managed to come 2k under budget and not needed a lick of help. I think one of the best things we did was be realistic about how much we could save over a period of time to get the wedding we want. Our engagement, by the time the wedding comes, will be 2 years and 2 months. We've saved aggressively but not to the point we couldn't go to the cinema or treat ourselves now and then.

We've also saved a good lot for our honeymoon thanks to the wedding gift of accomodation from the best mans family using deals they get with their timeshares and my OH contacting Universal and Disney stating that we're coming from Scotland for our honeymoon, how could they make this even more special for us? It resulted in us getting open fast passes and $50 gift cards each to treat ourselves to a meal.

Based on my little spreadsheet, our budget is about £15000, including a £2000 buffer for last-minute/oh-poop-we-forgot-x/y/z things, and I think we're fairly on track so far; some things have come out a little more expensive than we thought, but others have turned out significantly cheaper, so it's more-or-less balanced in our favour right now.

And we're doing something like 70/80% of the decorations ourselves, so been able to search for some real bargains!

Still might have to take out a small loan, though.

Our budget was 10k, but on top of this we had contributions for specific things from my mum and the inlaws which came to around 7k in total making 17k absolute total budget.

Out of our 10k, including honeymoon flights and accommodation, we spent £9889! So we gave the band an extra £100 as they were so so good and we felt we underpaid.

My mom mentioned yesterday that thy are planning on giving us money for the wedding but again I told her that as they hadn't told us how much we were planning to pay all ourselves so they don't need to worry about it. The thing is we aren't really cutting back on anything now other than my outfit. Everything we have chosen has been cheap but perfect to what we wanted so don't know what id spend the money on. We were going to use it for a videographer but we can now afford that ourselves. Just be more money to pay off the house!!

That should be the total cost including dress, rings, suit and bridesmaids dresses.

So far we're about a grand over "budget", although it was more of a guide than a budget. We were hoping to spend around £6k of our own money with parents contributing for various other things... we've already spent £4.3k and have £2.7k left to pay out at the moment, but that might change if we add more! That's not including the honeymoon though which is another £2.3k although we're hoping to recoup some of that back through wedding gifts xx

We should have about £6K of our own money to spend, my dad is paying for the venue (which includes food, some drinks and accommodation for me, h2b and the bridal party) so we don't need to panic about that. I'm saving for my dress separately (£1 a day in a pot should give me about £900 to spend) and we are going to ask for honeymoon donations rather than wedding gifts so (fingers crossed) that won't have to come out of the budget.
However so far we have spent about £3K of the budget on registrar, photographer, casino and venue decorations, now starting to panic that we are going to go over with everything else we will need to shell out for :s

We are very lucky as my parents have paid most of the cost for the venue/wedding breakfast/dj/photographer. My OHs parents have paid for our evening do and my aunty has offered to pay for the wedding flowers! We're paying for wedding dress/bridesmaid dresses/suits/ceremony/rings/favours/cake/other extras/honeymoon.

We weren't expecting that much help at all but since we have it means we don't have to wait to get married else I think we'd be saving forever!

Coming in at around £15k (but I don't want to think about it, I worry about money too much! I'm tight as anything haha)

We started off saying a budget of about 6K but after looking at costings for various items etc, we increased this to £10k. After finding our dream venue, we are now thinking it will be around the £12k mark. We are paying for it all ourselves. We are paying cash where we can for deposits etc, but the big things will be going on the plastic.

Eeek you may think - not the plastic, but we just keep a look out for the best deals on transfer rates and interest free periods etc and then swap our credit card. Stick with one for six months or so and then start to look again for a good deal. (Doing it once every 6 months or so, doesn't do too much damage to your credit rating) We make a payment of around £250 each month on interest free, so the total comes down quite quickly before the next big item goes on.

Looking forward to becoming the 3rd and last Mrs McLauchlan

We were thinking about 10k. It will probably go up a little as we have decided to add on some extras as OH has done some extra work.

We're pretty much paying for it ourselves. Some has come from savings and the rest is on plastic (interest free). Our parents are putting to our party when we get back.

Our budget was £8k not including my dress or the honeymoon.
So far we are at about £6k and have most things booked.

I'm very very cheeky when it comes to suppliers and have managed to get massive discounts on most things so we wil have our dream country house wedding with all the extras but at a fraction of the cost.

So far we are having 70 people for the day, with canapes, champagne reception and 3 course wedding breakfast (including choices for both the starter and the main course).
For the evening we are having a proper hog roast (with pig on a spit!) for 120 people.
