    Hi Ladies,

I haven't been on for a while as i've been so busy! I've missed so much!!
    So...
I rang my venue the other day as i wanted to start planning food. The lady doing the food has said she doesn' t have a set menu and we can choose whatever we want.
    We can have:
A choice of soups to start
    A main meal
    A choice of 2 puddings

The wedding is October 31st this year so weather can be quite mild and not overly cold.

What do you suggest we have as i don't want to play it too safe and it end up being boring.

    Thanks ladies xxx

Wow, I think my brain would boggle being able to have ANYTHING! That sounds unusual!

I would probably go for a clear coloured/neutral coloured soup to start as you don't want to be dribbling tomato soup down yourself for example, a chicken dish for main as this would probably suit most people (but also offer a veggie option/different option for those with dietary requirements) and I would possibly go for something like cheesecake and some sort of crumble and custard for pud. That's me trying to satisfy the guests though... at the end of the day you should have what you want and what you are going to enjoy!! :-) x

    Ahhh it's so hard!!
I'm thinking 1 hot pud and 1 cold?
I am reay picky with crumble, if the top isn't right i can't eat it.
What about warm choc brownies with cream/ice cream and a cheesecake..but what flavour?
Then i think of all the puddings i love am i think no! And want something else!

Hi we are having 5 course so starting with veg soup guessing everyone likes veg soup? Then we could have offered a choice of 2 starters but I haggled on price so now just giving chicken and ham vol u vent as me and oh both love it. We had a choice of about 8 mains but decided to go for thick cut roast beef it's almost like a steak or Turkey and ham with all the trimmings. Thought it made sense to offer a choice of red and white meat. Then also a vegetarian option. For dessert we originally choice a trio of desserts but have changed our mind to me and ohs favourites hot chocolate pudding with ice cream (my fav) and trifle (ohs fave) then tea or coffee. Hope this helps

    Thank you Danielle,
I like the sound of a trio of desserts! I think i'll ask her if she could do 3 mini ones as that would mean people wont be unhappy when the puddings come out!

Yea the trio is lovely almost every wedding we have been to have done a trio so we decided to be a little bit different! Good luck choosing. You should ask your hotel to let you have a sample of things. Our hotel gave us vouchers to use at the Sunday carvery as everything they serve at that is offered for weddings x
