First thing and I think the most important decision is to think religious ceremony or not... Then think about budget....how much can you actually afford. Then I did numbers, how many would I need to invite, how many is ideL and max etc... Then I shopped around at venues, bit old fashioned but I got a note pad and did calculations for each of my venue choices based on meals etc so it was all there in black and white.
Good luck and happy planning!!!

Welcome!
I am a 2018 bride too and just in the early
First thing we looked at was wedding numbers- then when we had a rough idea in numbers started to look at venues that could cater then we looked at budget- we have done it a bit backwards really as tbh it should be set budget then look at gust numbers then venues
We know we wanted a church wedding so we also started to look at churches
So far we have on,y booked the church and venue but we are looking at colour schemes, bands, photographers etc
Enjoy planning and this site- you will find it addictive lol xx

Hello! Another 2018 bride here! I'm a March 2018 bride.
I would recommend setting yourself a budget. From there decide I would recommend making a rough guest list and decide what kind of service you want.
We have booked our venue, provisionally booked the registrar, booked our photographer and cake. This week I found my wedding dress which is now on order.
The time really does fly by. My fiancé proposed in March and it's already August!

Lauren is right on the money. First descision is a budget. How happy are you both spending x amount. Second, church ceremony or registrar? Thirdly a venue. These things need to be decided firstly and then booked. After you have booked you need to announce your intentions to marry to your local council
Agree with the others about deciding on your budget. We haven't set an exact budget but we haven't gone crazy on things. You then need to decide on the kind of ceremony you want and alsso if you want everything in the same venue like ceremony & reception xx

Hi Emma, I'm Emma too and also getting married in 2018.
We've already booked our venue, registrar, photographer, DJ and bought our rings. It's never too early to start planning and booking. We've found a lot of places have honoured this years price too so has saved us quite a bit of money.
First things first I would make a rough budget and do some research, and attend wedding fair, they're great for ideas of what you do and don't want. One word of advice, don't get caught up in the moment, take your time when it comes to your wedding party, so many people regret their decision some when down the line when it comes to bridesmaids (not me, just from things I have read).
Good luck with your planning! X

Hi Emma!
Definitly work out budget, then the guest list! The guest list is definitly harder than you first thing lol. They you can work out your numbers to then start looking at venues :)

as others have said, guest list is a good one to start on as it will help you decide what type of venue you need or whather it needs shaving down to suit your venue and budget x
