I do love the idea, although would be tempted to lovingly mock friends by where they were sat.... the snow table anyone? ;)

Also would have no idea which would be the top table, Lannister or Targaryen.... or other

I know, I'm reading the books as well-Love it

Haha, I love that, RachelE118 :-) . My H2B is an artist so we're toying with the idea of picking some of his best love-themed paintings and displaying postcard-sized versions on each table, with the title of each painting as the table name x

I LOVE the Game of Thrones idea! Both me and H2B love it! Then you could pictures of the banners too! How cool :D

H2B is in the RAF, so the obvious would be planes, but I really don't want that. So I'm stuck a little. x

Me and hubby are massive theatre lovers- I'm on stage and he does sound/lighting. We named all of our tables after theatres we have been to together and on the cards we put the theatre as a background and the show names we've been to at that theatre. Sounds weird but have a look at my pictures! x

Well because we are currently travelling the world together for a year before we get married (get back 4 months before the wedding - crazy!)I think we have decided to have different places we have been together, Rio (where we got engaged), Rome our first holiday together etc...having a bit of a vintage travel theme to tie it in and we are collecting things along the way to use at the reception - oriental slippers for the girls to put on if their feet if they hurt, postcards etc...can't wait!! xx

    Trains!

My OH is a model rail enthusiast and our wedding reception is in a goods shed at a railway museum. Thinking along the lines of Flying Scotsman, Mallard, Oliver Cromwell etc. He also wants to include a model of the particular train on the table :o)

OH's Sister got married on Saturday and their tables were named after the groom's favourite beers with the beer mats to match.

I dont know what to do. I suggested Arsenal Legends as my other half is a big Arsenal fan but he wasnt taken with it. I then suggested films as we both love watching films.....but again he isnt taken with it....he seems to just want numbers which I am not taken with. I am very into birds, although not part of our theme, its something which is meaningful to one of us. Maybe Black grouse, puffin, grey partridge, ptarmigan, eider, snipe and others...but I still dont think we will ever agree and end up having numbers :(

We haven't fully decided yet but it looks like we'll be going with names of robots (OH is a sci-fi nerd) but the ones we're thinking of were themselves named after Shakespeare characters which will be rather apt as the wedding will be in Stratford upon Avon and well my heart sank when I realised we couldn't afford to get married at the theatre, so at least there will be some Shakespeare (of sorts) in the wedding.

I could do with some inspiration on this one. Our theme is a rustic christmas. I'm sort of thinking of classic black and white Christmas films, but...I don't really know more than three or four. What else could I have?

P.S. I freaking love GoT Idea, but I would be scared I was tempting fate into a re-enactment of the Red Wedding!!

I don't like the idea of table numbers, never have so was thinking that seeing as we have kids & I want tossible I was about thinking about having childrens character tabke names with on one side of the table name card having a picture of the character alog with its name then on the.other side of the card having a "fun facts" bit....
the table names we have thought of are

    1. Top table: Lola & Bugs (our nicknames for eachother & also loony toons)
    2. Mcqueen (eldest is obsessed)
    3. Superman (youngest is obsessed)
    4. Minions (kids & h2b)
    5. Mater (kids love)

Now I just need a list of fun facts for each.... any ideas?

Find out who you are & do it on purpose!

I like the idea of having table names that reflect milestones in your life together or things you have done together. I'm not sure what our set up is going to be like, I'm hoping to have 2 long tables attached to the top table so in an upside down 'U' shape, in which case I would just have the top table and tables 1 and 2, as don't see the point in naming just 2 tables. If we have the standard round/oval tables then I would name them :) I like the idea of the following:
    - First street name you lived in together
    - The month you got together/got engaged
    - Name of first pet together
    - Name of first hotel you stayed in together abroad/name of country/town

    Rumours (Fleetwood mac)
Wish you were here (Pink Floyd)
    Paranoid (Black Sabbath)
    Ziggy Stardust (David Bowie)
    Pet Sounds (Beach Boys)
Never mind the B****cks (S** Pistols)

    Our perfect day - 08.08.15 <3

As our overall theme is music, we are having names of favourite songs/artist, with a (subtle) love theme thrown in....

Top table: Peter Cetera – Glory of Love (OH recorded this for me after we went through a rough patch and means a lot)
EAST 17 – House of Love
Elvis – Wonder of You (our first dance song)
Foreigner – I wanna know what love is
UB40 – I got you babe OR Cant help falling in love with you (possible walking down the aisle song)
    DJ Sammy – Heaven
Dee Lite – Groove is in the heart
    Queen – Best Friend
Backstreet Boys – As long as you love me

Met my prince charming - May 2002
Finally tying the knot - July 2015
Where there is love there is life - Muhatma Ghandi

    Ford Consul
    Austin 1100
    RME Riley
    Standard Flying 12
    Triumph Spitfire

Couples from books to tie in with our literature theme. The top table is going to be 'Elizabeth and Darcy', (also using pages from Pride and Prejudice on our save the dates and invitations), we will also have 'Gatsby and Daisy', 'Jane and Rochester', and more modern ones like 'Edward and Bella' and 'Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters' :-) xxxx
