Okay, I was meant to be getting married in Scotland and had my heart set on a dress.... to cut a long story short, our venue let us down and cancelled our wedding with 8 months to go and now we are getting married abroad in Mauritius October 2017 instead. Im worried that I will need to choose another dress as I dont want to be uncomfortable and hot when abroad but I wanted somebody elses advive who has been married abroad and wondered what sort of dress you wore and how it felt? I have seen a really nice grecian style dress as an alternative but feeling quite down as i was told its ugly, plain and boring! :(

Any advice in regards to dress choosing would be fab.... thank you xx

Claire have you got pictures of both dress styles you could upload to your albums we can look at?

Who told you that the Grecian style dress was ugly??? That's not very nice, I'm sure if it didn't suit you there would be more tactful ways to put it. Plus I find they suit I lot of people really well.

I am getting married in Vegas in July, my dress is in my album. There's nothing about it that it special for Vegas, its a strapless, lace back A-line type dress with beading and a little train. A 'normal' type dress really. I did think about getting a tea length dress or something that would be a bit cooler, however, when I tried them on they weren't right so I got the dress I have and it's fab. The only consideration I am making is regarding the shoes, I am making sure I don't get something with an inappropriate heel.

Mauritius sounds fab, I would get the dress you want, whether it's Grecian or otherwise. It is pretty humid, so I would take that into account for your hair and makeup, which depending on how you want to style it, may have a bearing on your dress.

I'm sure its IDL that been to Mauritius, sure she'll have some ideas.

Steph is right, I've been to mauritius. Amazing beautiful country. It does get very hot but to me it didn't feel as humid as Malaysia or Singapore so I personally think it's more comfortable.

Depending on how sensitive you are to the heat you may not have to change your dress. My cousin got married in Malaysia and my sister and I were here bridesmaids. She wore a really thick heavy dress, full princess dress.

How long will you actually be outside? Will you be inside for a good part of the day in air con?

I've had a look at the pictures online. I like the e11i5 br1d@l one the best. Its floaty and has nice detailing.
The pictures make the m0r1 l33 look massive and like it would be uncomfortable.

Oh, with the photos you can't post unless you are a power user but you can upload to your albums and then if you unrestrict your profile people can look at them.
