    Hi everyone!

Hope your wedding planning is going well :-)

I have got a really special friend who I have known for a few years now. She has always been an absolute rock and amazing support since I met her - she was originally my boss and has helped me so much through such a lot (I have ME and she has always been soooo supportive and understanding, both as my boss and my friend). When I changed jobs we knew we would stay in contact, and now, she has sort of become like my second mum (I had to move a long way from home a few years ago for my h2b's job and I found it really hard not knowing anyone at first, but she has really taken me under her wing). She's been very badly treated herself in the past, and for one reason or another she has no family - parents, siblings, husband or anything, she always wanted children so I suppose is maybe why she is so mumsie over me.

I thought about asking her to be a bridesmaid, but with my others being my age and her being a lot older than us I knew she would have felt quite awkward. My mum is happy for her to be part of everything, so long as I do the first dress shop with just Mum and my sister which is obviously fine by me. My friend is really excited about coming and looking at dresses after that, and the hen do and everything, I suppose for her it's all a bit of a chance she never thought she'd have. But I also want her to have some sort of special role on the day itself without treading on my mum's toes.

My mum and h2b have both suggested her doing a reading, we are having a church ceremony. The only thing I worry about this is that she's fairly shy and although she would say yes to please me, I don't want her to feel worried or awkward about it - I just want her to enjoy the day like all of the other guests. But I really want her to have some sort of special role, and just wondered if anyone has any ideas about what that role could be??

    Loads of love xx

I'm having one of my best friend be an ushermaid . Basically I have a friend as MOH and have 4 nieces as bridesmaids and flower girls and a nephew who is page boy and a 21 nephew as usher so a lot of roles were filled! She will be helping my moh with hen, helping with usher jobs and maybe doing a reading. She won't have the same dress as bridesmaids but will have same colour dress as scheme of wedding :)

Like glitter fairy said what about her being a witness? You could always ask her about the reading and make her aware that if it will make her uncomfortable then she can say no and maybe ask if there anything she would like to do? And see what her thoughts are x

Thank you :-) I love the idea of her being a witness, that's something I'm sure would make her feel involved but at the same time not embarrassed or shy. Awesome!

    xx

So I saw my friend yesterday - we went dress shopping! It turned out that the shop we went into, the lady and my friend knew each other quite well a few years back so whilst I was getting into some dresses I asked the lady what she thought, she said definitely ask my friend who cried and said of course she would!!! :-D xxxx
