hi, i am thinking about the entertainment at the reception, as we r going abroad 4 the actual wedding, i wanted something a bit special 4 the reception at home. I really like the idea of having a band and DJ? What do others think??

I'm hoping to have both and my friends who got married in Cyprus this August had both at their home reception last week. It deffinately creates a good atmosphere if you ask me! xxx

We're having a rat pack kind of singer and a dj. We really wanted a jazz band but can't afford it, other things just cost too much!! xx

Thanks ladies! All I need 2 do is c if I can afford a band now. Im not sure how much bands r?lol Also how does it work having both? Do u start off with DJ then the band do a set then u go bak 2 DJ? x

Our band did a disco set in between. They played some music in the background before everyone arrived and then played an initial set. We then had a bit of disco whilst the food was served another set and disco to finish. It worked really well and everyone was dancing all night. Had lots of compliments on how good the band were!

A lot! We had them all day as well though I think just for the evening they were £1250! They set up from 6pm for the evening and stayed til 12Ish

Ours are costing 750 for two sets, one forty minute and one an hour an fifteen minutes with a disco the rest of the time xx

luckily OH's nephews both do 'DJ-ing' in their spare time and have all the equipment blah blah blah... so they're doing the that as a gift. We're also having a guitarist doing a set too - you youngsters are way too old to remember a band called the Swinging Blue Jeans in the 60s (hell I'm a little old to remember too) but he used to play with them before they split up due to all being too old hehe..

we ended up with a band.... it is very difficult in terms of the equipment they all need and timings etc to have both a dj and a band so go for a band as it really does make the atmosphere... it was great.
cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo

we have a dj booked, but also got a magician walking around early evening as guests arrive etc

on the evening we're just having a dj and a photobooth. My friends wedding they had a dj early on, but then the dj was in a band so after a while they came on and then played for the rest of the night. Was such a fab night :) x

Yeah thats wot i really want ClareE. Most bands ive seen do their set and DJ during the breaks, I still love the band that is pretty epensive but I haventseen anything (that hasnt been booked) thats better. grrrrr

Have you looked at dumbfounders and agent orange? 2 of my friends are having them for their weddings next years, not sure how good they are as I have never heard them but I should imagine they have demos available on their websites? xxx
