hi I'm really worried about ppl being bored at my wedding, does anyone else feel like this? Our reception from 7.30 - 11pm. We have a du n buffet but not sure if need more? I'm prob worrying about nothing. Was thinking of photobooth but quiet pricey n not sure if would be everyone's thing? X

You shouldn't need more. I am just having a DJ as (hopefully) people will be chatting, eating and dancing and there won't be a need for anything else.
If you would like something though maybe you could have a DIY photobooth and just buy your own props and use your own camera or have people use there cameras/phones, some people will like it and some won't but you wouldn't be making anybody use it if they don't want to. Plus if your not really spending much money on it, it wouldn't matter too much if not many people use it.
You could also put mini games into your favours like scratch cards etc so that people can do these if they like. I am putting disposable cameras on each table along with a wedding 'i spy' game like the photo I have added, I thought this would get people chatting :)

That a good idea, did think about doing a diy photobooth. Maybe using disposable cameras? X

Yeah good idea, although with a disposable camera you would have to have somebody take the photo, with a digital camera/phone you could set it on a timer. If people are willing to take the photos though then it would be fine :) x

We are doing a DIY photo booth :) we were looking at buying a polaroid camera which wasn't actually pricey considering, but the cost of the film is ridiculous! We are probably just going to use a digital camera and they can take selfies or just ask someone to take the photo. Alternatively they can use their own phones and we will be asking people to upload snaps to social media using a specific hashtag so that we can easily get hold of the photos after to print out and put into a book :)
There are tons of really cheap props on ebay and for the backdrop you could just use a bed sheet or something. We actually have a spare room in our venue that we are using for the photo booth which is floor to ceiling bookcases with old books, so that would make a lovely backdrop in itself and is in line with our 'vintage' inspired kind of theme x
There's a good app called Wedp1cs that you could set up so people upload their pics on phones straight to there so you have them all in once place.

I've seen that but I think I prefer the hashtag thing. That way they can use FB, Twit & Inst@gr@m.. whichever they feel more comfortable and happy using and other people can also see them then as well :)

We're having a magician during the drinks reception, a wedding singer during the wedding breakfast and then a dj and wedding singer on the evening. Ours is a long day though, guests will be arriving any time from 10am and we run through until midnight so I was worried people would need something to split up the day and make it different. We're considering a DIY photobooth that some of the girls suggested kindly :)

We're having a magician too for the day guests, and having a harpist play through the wedding breakfast. The day guests will also be able to make use of the photo booth when we're having photos taken etc.. We just have a DJ for the evening, so with the photo booth our evening guests can also have a little entertainment. I don't think you need to go nuts with entertainment for the evening as the party is the entertainment :)

Our reception will be similar to yours, along with the DJ we are having poker tables, slots etc.
We will also have a performer or 2 if the budget allows :)

What to do between the breakfast and the evening guests start arriving?
CommentAuthorFlossie
Our day guests will have a chance to retreat to another room after the wedding breakfast and sit down for teas and coffees. Those staying the night will also have the chance to go up to their rooms and freshen up or whatever x

This is why we are having a 3pm ceremony, wb will finish around 6.30 with evening guests arriving from 7. Personally I don't like milling around time at weddings :)

Our 'break' will only be about 30 mins as well :) it will be nice to use the time to freshen up, maybe sneak a cheeky few mins with OH, and catch up with any guests I wouldn't have had the chance to speak to before that point xx

Our break in between is about 3 hours. This is to allow those with kids who aren't invited to the day (we're only having kids who are in the wedding party there) to go and collect them, also allows myself and H2B to have some quality time with our boys as obv we're going to be fairly busy the rest of the time. And allows me to have a nap hahahahaha
CommentAuthorFlossie
I bet you'll be far too pumped up to have a nap! I wouldn't want to miss even 1 second of the day x

Haha, I'm hoping so. Would like a part of the day where I don't have to worry as much about being around people, having time with my boys will be good. Enjoying the day and relaxing before having to do the rounds and chatting to people again
