hi girls, just going through what I need to order as hoping to send out Save the Dates soon (I know it's early but we've both got big families and friends coming from over seas)

what I'm wondering is what do we actually need to order for stationery? Obviously save the dates and day/evening invites with RSVP's, but do you really need an order of service if its not a church wedding and is there any need for a menu if theres only one option for food? My favours are doubling as name tags so I won't need them either...

any help is appreciated and thanks in advance

    xx

We're not having an order of service either. We have just bought: save the dates, invites, placecards probably putting the menu on show just on a piece of card that matches our invites (were making them ourselves along with table numbers)

    All you'll really need are:

    Save the dates
    Day invitation
    Evening invitation
    RSVP's cards

No need for an OOS unless you're having a church ceremony and no need for a menu either if the choices are set like most weddings are.

We aren't having order of service either, we are having printed menus etc but the venue is doing all that (the wedding planner) so haven't had to think of anything else ... We are getting thank you cards made up similar to the invites too though x

I think you can certainly do without the order of service for a civil ceremony, unless you want something with the names of the wedding party in, or the titles of any readings. The main purpose of the order of service for a church wedding is to give people the words to the hymns. I would recommend that you display the menu somewhere so that people know what they are having, but you could do without one for each individual person. Our hotel package includes menu cards.

We sent save the dates and pocket-fold invitations which included RSVP cards with stamped addressed envelopes, gift list info, and information cards with info on accommodation, travel and parking as well as our wedding website address which has more detailed info on.

We're not doing an order of service or order of day, but we have put a rough guide to the day, with timings, on the website (though only about 1/3 of our guests have bothered logging in lol).

We're then having a table plan, table names, and then combined name/menu cards; we're having menu cards as we offered 3 options of starter and dessert and 4 mains, so we want to remind people what they've ordered.

I'm not bothering with save the dates. I think it's a bit of a waste of money including postage personally.

I've made our own day invites with separate menu choice cards (1 p/person), bought some personalised RSVP cards with their own envelopes from the bay of e really good price, and also some pearly envelopes for invites and personalised stickers to seal from he bay also.

The menu choices are being printed on Matt photo paper by us and were buying some decent card from a local supplier for the actual invites (day and evening)

Haven't really thought about OOS but doubt I will do them. If so they will be made by me and not too wordy.

My venue takes care of place cards with the persons choice on the back.

I'm making the table plan as didn't want the standard venue one and same with table numbers.
