Just wondered what time people were getting married?
I was talking to the people at the place where I'm getting married about timings for the day and they are really flexible about it but said people usually start the ceremony about 2pm to allow time for everything. I originally thought I'd get married about 3pm to allow time for people coming from further away to check into hotels near by and get to the venue but equally I want to enjoy the day and don't want anything to be rushed. So was wondering what other people were doing?

My ceremony is at 2pm and some people were saying it's quite late! I think it just depends on perspective! xxx

We're getting married at 2pm. We decided on this time to allow people who aren't from the area, or not staying in Hereford the night before, time to travel to the church. The church is on the same grounds of the venue, so people can just walk to the reception area.
Plus it gives me and my bridesmaids time to get ready without feeling rushed. Also, it gives me time for lunch too (if my nerves allow me to eat!) xx

Ours is 5pm! We didn't want the formal sit down reception so opted for a later ceremony with a relaxed 'afternoon tea' style reception x

I think I may go for 2pm so have plenty of time to get ready and plenty of time to enjoy all parts of the wedding. Although I'm sure it will all fly by

We're getting married at 2:30pm as I didn't want to get married to early but also wanted to be able to enjoy our big day so this seemed a good compromise

Our day is as follows:
Ceremony: 1.00pm Drinks reception and formal photos (reception venue is a 2 minute walk from the ceremony venue): 1.45-3.45pm Wedding breakfast: 4-6pm Gap (for guests to relax/get changed/freshen up, and to give our band and venue time to set up for the evening; we'll also have a slide-show of images from the day playing during this time): 6-7.30pm Evening reception: 7.30pm Cutting of the cake: 7.45pm First dance: 8pm End: whenever; probably about 2am for the more 'hardcore' partiers lol
The wedding is costing a small fortune, so we want to make the most of it, and have as long a day as possible. We also didn't want to feel too much like we're running to a schedule. Our timings are very generous (doubt the wedding breakfast is going to take 2 hours, for example), so we're hoping things will run smoothly, but feel relaxed; no rushing from A to B/panicking that the photos are taking too long and we should be sitting down to eat/etc. Also, where we're getting married our only time options are 1pm, 2.30pm, and 4pm; and we felt 2.30pm was just way too late, things would have been really tight, esp because we need to leave at least an hour between the wedding breakfast and evening reception so it can be set up.
