I have a fear of childbirth - I'll be opting for a caeserian as am a complete wuss when it comes to pain of any kind!!!

Yes I'm 13 weeks. I hope I can have a normal birth, I know it will be really painful but C-sections are so invasive. and I think recovery time is longer. I particularly don't like the idea of being awake while they go in. I'd prefer to do it how my body was designed to, however painful. I wouldn't refuse a C-section if the baby was in distress, I would do whatever required to get the baby out healthy.

You have a screen up when you have a c section. You're awake and no what's happening you just can't feel anything
Elinor Claire- congratulations. Yes I won't lie to you and say giving birth isn't painful because it is very painful. I know because I recently giving birth to my son three months ago. It's painful to give birth normal and you are sore for days later but you can be recover more easier with a normal birth than if you have a c-section. Another bad thing about having a c-section is you can get infections really quickly. I wouldn't say not to have a c-section if you had no choice but have a c-section because there are complications then you would have to go for a c-section no matter how unhappy you are about it

It wasn't half as bad as I expected, not as bad as my foot. I'll put a picture up later. At the moment it's still bleeding and wrapped in cling film so not pleasant to look at x
