I've always been a bit chicken to get a tattoo, and tbh not really known what to have. Talked about it to OH and he agrees it would be nice to have something, but we are lacking in inspiration for what to get! Does anyone have any ideas about good location, style etc. (It will be the first tattoo for both of us).

I want to get a wedding tattoo but I'm not sure because what if it comes wrong or if I don't like it, I would pay how much money for a tattoo that went wrong or didn't like and it costs how much to cover them or to remove them. I wanted to get a tatt on my ring finger but my tattoo artist said No as it won't look nice they fade easy etc I have a design that I want will have hubby and my name and our wedding date in Roman numerals in colour as all my tatts are in colour and can't decide where to put it !!
I have two tattoos on my hips one on each side could have it on my lower back finish off a half belt or I have it on my upper arm as I already have a tattoo on my left arm for my engagement ring and eternity wedding ring so it would make sense to put it their I will draw up my design and pop it in here for you but in the mean time I can show my ring tattoo This is my first tattoo quite big I think for a first tatt

I wanted something similar to LadyC, and we wanted the date of the Wedding on our ring fingers, as well as enscribing our initials in the wedding bands, but I also got told about the possibility of finger tattoos fading, so I've been forced to have a rethink. So we may end up waiting until after the day, seeing how it unfolds and see if anything stands out to us that we take away from the day that we could possibly get tattooed to be his and hers, but probably not matching, as if it ends up being quite a feminine thing, it may need to be 'manned up' a bit haha! X

We've not got "wedding" tattoos but we do have "couples" tattoos! I have a key on my foot and OH has the lock on his upper arm. I have the words "Forever & Always" on mine and OH has "Always & Forever" on his :)
I do love the finger/hand tattoos! I like the "K" and "Q" ones (as in King & Queen from a pack of cards) xx

Love the tattoos Flossie And I wanted my finger tattoo so bad but my tattoo artist made me rethink has really change my mind as he showed me his all faded doesn't look nice he said he wish he didn't tattoo his fingers at all as he hates the fact he has to keep retouching it to make it look fresh but only looks fresh when it's just done and when it starts to heal it just looks awful. So I think i will put it on my upper arm as I'm too wooseey to go up on my ribs I don't think I could handle that pain and it wouldn't be a small tattoo so I don't know Xxx

I need mine touching up and have done for ages but I really don't want to go through that pain again!!! If anyone is considering a foot tattoo I would say DON'T!!!! It healed really badly, the end of the key nearest my ankle is quite faded and all the shading just "fell out" of it!? Was the most horrendous pain I've ever experienced though and I could barely walk for 2 weeks so not in any hurry to go through that again!
I would love a tattoo on my ribs but I'm too conscious about my belly and my rolls! Haha xx

Im surprised at that..... I have a high pain threshold and my foot/ankle i never flinched but my ribs..... My god, i felt sick with pain, sweating and had to seriously hold back the tears.

My first was on my wrist and it did hurt but it wasn't unbearable in the slightest, but with my foot I just kept flinching and could not control it at all, was horrendous! xx

I absolutely love matching tattoos, you can get some idea from [link removed] Something more original (and, let's say it - safer) than your OH's name and I like thinking that when you're both 90 and don't know what's your name you will know that this grandpa next door in your care home is someone special to you :) :)

The tattoo I had on the bottom of my back was the worst I've had. I've got a tattoo on each wrist which the pain was bearable as didn't take long to do. The one I've got on my shoulder hurt but nothing like my back.

OH and I are getting each other's initial on our fingers under our wedding rings, we wanted something but weren't sure what to get but thought that would be personal and even if our wedding rings aren't there 'each other' still is in a way xx

My arm hand tattoo killed over the bones I found the outline the worse with my first tattoo the second n third tattoo the colouring and shading is the worse!! All tattoos about 1hr and 30mins each that's why my pain threshold can manage I kept saying to myself this isn't worse than having a baby that's way more pain do suck it in and get this tattoo done!! Which I have done each time can't come home with a incomplete tattoo mine is never big enough to not finish!! My next tattoo probably be about the same size depends on how it's drawn up and how it will wrap round my arm!! My tattoo I just got is to be continued as is a tattoo for my son so have to wait and see how many more I have I got two down but without a dob and lil character as I call my son Jammy Frog so I have a frog head sitting on his shoulder!! Xxx

OH has my name on his ring finger. I'm thinking of having his name on my foot in gallifreyan. Shouldn't take to long. The swallow on my right foot took three hours and by the end of it I was almost sick from the pain. My tattooist says this one should be done in half an hour so I can cope with that. I'm going in to have my ribs done in two weeks. That should be pleasant haha

Depends where you have it. My foot and hip were really painful. Wrist and back not to bad, worse bit of the back I found was going across my spine but it wasn't unbearable. Behind my ear wasn't painful, just very strange sensation. I've heard the inside of your upper arm and anything near the elbow or knee are pretty bad but can't say for myself. Rule of thumb, the fleshier the place the less it hurts.

That's my problem I don't know what kind of design I want if I was to get some tattoos and also scared about the pain of having a tattoo but there again if I could go through giving birth to my son then getting tattoos should be easy, shouldn't it?

If you want a tattoo come up with an original idea nor something you've seen before guaranteed someone else won't have the same design. My design I have come up with I will Be very suprised if another person thinks the same like me as it will be a significant tattoo that has a significant Meaning and includes the both of us and we both won't forget our names when we get old!! It also ties in with our wedding theme and our wedding venue It will be green and have lots of lush foilage include our wedding date in Roman numerals it will be very Me and very Eden at the same time =D Still haven't drawn it up yet but looking to get it sometime after the wedding and may have to wait till after my op Xxx

I wouldn't choose to have a tattoo, I tend not to do anything that involves needles unless it's necessary. I haven't had piercings either. I'm not bad with needles at all, I just tend to avoid pain unless I absolutely have to put up with it. I know I'm going to go through child birth but that really is something that I just have to do.
