After a busy weekend - update time!
We had our details meeting with the florist and confirmed numbers of table centres, button holes, corsages etc. That was very exciting and I was armed with photos this time so I could point at the various flowers I wanted to include. Can't wait until they arrive at the venue on the day!
Also did some present buying: My brother (walking me down the aisle) - Cloth bound hardback vintage 150 anniversary edition complete Sherlock Holmes. He is a massive book worm and loves nicely mad books so I couldn't resist when I saw it.
sherlock.jpg
Best Man - Personalised beer tankard with the year he and H2b first met. He brews his own beer too so is fitting
tankard1.jpg
I also saw this really funny coin tin which instantly reminded me of my chief BM so got that for her goody bag
tin1.jpg
We have also added on Thankyou bouquets to our florist order for the Mums and my grannie, going for 3 different seasonal ones so they are different from the rest of the wedding flowers.
We have booked our final details meeting with the venue and meeting with the photographer to discuss shots etc for the 2nd July, so that's coming up fast too!

Hen do!
So the weekend just gone was my big hen weekend away with my bestest ladies. There were 7 of us in total which was actually a really good number.
So I had no idea where I was going, left my friends house at 11.30 on the Friday, set off in 2 cars and I realised we were going south. Luckily we hadn't got very far when chief BM realised she had forgotten the hen do sashes etc so 1 car had to go back, so we had drama in the first 20 mins! We went a funny way and I thought maybe we were headed for Portsmouth, but we went past it, then past Southampton which was my next guess. When I realised we were headed for the new forest, I clocked on as one of the girls went to the arts uni in Bournemouth so knows the area well. So Bournemouth it was!
We stopped on route at Mudeford and had an awesome walk to the beach, where we sat and had cider and ice cream

Back in the cars to head to the hotel just outside the city centre, where we were given welcome drinks of sea breeze cocktails and were allowed to have our own drinks in the hotel garden which was awesome. We ordered in pizza then got ready to head out for a calm night. We went to a casino for a drink and watched some very nice men in suits win lots of money! Then it started to storm and rain really hard, there was a queue for the cocktail bar we wanted to go to so ended up in walkabout. It was a bit sleazy and I got hit on 4 times! But was good for a dance about, we headed back around 1am
The next day we had a big breakfast in the hotel then wandered down to the shops. Had a good mooch around, then sat in the gardens with ice cream watching the world go by and having a good gossip.
image.jpg
image.jpg
Had Pimms and a late lunch in the sun before heading back to the hotel to get ready for the "out out!" We actually watched chatty chitty bang bang while we got ready which was perfect. I had devil horns with a veil, a sash, a pink L plate and a wand!
image.jpg
We got to the cocktail making place at 6, and all hell broke loose. The class was hilarious and we had an awesome bar tender. He even made me a free extra cocktail afterwards, even though I was pretty squiffy by then!

image.jpg
Then we had some food included in the cost of the class which was much needed by this point. The dare cards came out which were hilarious, I had to collect items of clothing but only managed a shoe from a guy id actually been dancing with the night before so that was a bit of a fail!
image.jpg
It got s bit mad after that with free vodka shots and all sorts of antics, then we had vip entry to a big club and one girl had a load of free drink wristbands from a rep outside so we drank and danced the rest of the night away!
image.jpg
Next day we hit the road around 11 and went to Burley for drink and food and a debrief! Was sad to be heading home but we were all pretty dead!

Hen do part 2 happened yesterday, afternoon tea in a local vintage tea room with family and other ladies who couldn't do the weekend away or it wasn't their scene ;) Far too much food but it was good to get people I know from different places chatting to each other, should make a good atmosphere at the wedding! So today is my last day of work, very scary. Tomorrow I am having my car washed inside and out have my hair cut and colour. Bye bye roots! I will also take the post box, guest book, pens etc to my mums ready to go to the venue on Friday. I sort of wanted to put my dress on at my mum's aswell as I'm a bit worried about getting into it, but I'm not sure at the moment.
Thursday will be a calm day with OH, then will go get my nails done with chief BM and go to my mums for the night.
Friday we will be taking all the table stuff and the cake for the venue, and chief BM and I having a huge suite to stay in on Friday night. We are going to sit in the Jacuzzi and have some wine so a nice chilled night before!
There really isn't a lot to do now, weather forecast looks good and I cannot wait!!

Just copyng and pasting the text from my happily married post to complete the record :) Some pics in my albums.
We did it!
Here's how it went :)
So my chief BM and I checked into the hotel on the Friday afternoon, spent some time in the Jacuzzi and spa before having room service dinner, very indulgent! Went to bed about 11 but hardly slept, couldn’t seem to get comfortable and was worried about oversleeping. Hair and make up lady was about 10 minutes late but she soon set to work, it all went so fast as my mum and step sister appeared and various family members popped in and out
We were a bit behind so I was getting a bit edgy and snappy but eventually it got to 2.30 and decided it was time to get my dress on. All was going fine until something stabbed me in the leg! Gran discovered there was a pin lodged in between the layers and had to get her sewing kit to get it out! By this time it was 3pm and so i was going to be late! Luckily hair and make up lady continued on as we had the fight with the dress so we got out of the hotel room at 3.10. Spoke with the registrar, then it was time! The quartet started and I couldn’t stop shaking as i went down the aisle after my bridesmaids, Jon grabbed my hands and kept telling me it was OK as I have never shook so much in my entire life! The ceremony went so fast but was so perfect for us, readings were spot on and the music we chose for signing the register.
We came back up the aisle to a special arrangement of “i believe in a thing called love” and i was so relieved to be handed a glass of champagne as we got outside.
The sun was shining and the drinks reception was fab, the bubbles were a big hit then the quartet came out and danced and played for us again.
While people were taking their seats for the meal we did some group shots and a few couple photos then were announced into our wedding breakfast. The sweetheart table was perfect for us and it felt so good to be surrounded by people we love.
My brothers speech made me cry, and Jon’s speech was way more romantic than i expected! Everyone loved the food, and the quartet surprised us by playing between courses again and SIL’s best friend sang along too (he has albums out and is very big in Germany).
We were on time after the meal and went to check on the evening set up and talk to the band/DJ, then went outside with the photographer for more couple photos in the fading light, it was perfect.
Evening guests started to arrive and soon they were ushered inside, we were announced in again to cut the cake and then it was time to dance. Nobody knew we had gone to a dancing lesson a few weeks ago so the woops and cheers as we danced to “Crazy” played by the band made it absolutely perfect. Jon is known for his 2 left feet.
he evening went pretty quick, everyone was having a great time whether they were dancing to the band or DJ or having sweets from the buffet, it was just perfect. The cake was a joint effort between my mum and gran and everyone commented on how good it was!
My friends were going to set up a video booth but I had forgotten, and by the time they remembered they’d had a few too many sherberts! The Jenga guest book was popular and the messages we got were fab, some really funny and some really sweet.
I had a little throwing bouquet made up aswell which was a really fun point in the evening
So in summary, it was a perfect day. After a fire alarm on the Sunday morning, we packed everything up and got home to chill out. We opened all the cards and listened to the cd of the quartet music SIL burnt for us. I think I cried more on Sunday then i did on Saturday because we were just so happy at how the day had gone! For future brides, don’t sweat the small stuff. Enjoy the morning as I was quietly panicking and then something I could not plan for made me late anyway so it really doesn’t matter!
