Saw dressing gowns like that on @sd@s website yesterday for £6 but they only had size 16-18 left, hoping they get some more in soon!

Wow you're definitely getting to the fun stuff. I remember really starting to feel like a bride to be when I was having hair and make-up trials and dress fittings. I love those bags.

So an update:

- My bridesmaid (mummy of the flower girl) is now going to be a witness for us as she is pregnant with baby number 2! And is due 3 weeks after the wedding! She is not local so I was worried about making her travel up and down for multiple dress fittings etc. So I'm back to where I started with 2 bridesmaids (best friend and step sister) and a 20 month old flower girl. Was a bit of a panic but all sorted now, although will have a dress to sell!
- Received the invites and the stickers for envelopes etc. So over the next few weeks we will get those out to definite day guests.
- Going to try and pick up H2b's ring again on Sunday, the one that arrived last time was different to the one on display. The shop just reckoned the wrong one had been sent so we re-ordered, fingers crossed. He is SO fussy I am dreading having to look for another ring if it is wrong again!
- Going to York for a long weekend next weekend as it is half way between us and the best man (lives near Edinburgh) and his other half, so will be nice to spend some time with them as haven't seen them since H2b asked him to be his best man. Hopefully get to talk about the wedding lots too.
- Menu tasting booked for 15th March, coincides nicely with our 1 year engagement.

March is looking ridiculously busy for work but hoping that the time will go super quick and we'll be into April before I know it!

It's all sounding exciting. One of my bridesmaids got pregnant but fortunately she was due three months before the wedding, and had lost the baby weight before the fitting. The menu tasting is such fun.

Starting to give out our day Invites as we see people which is exciting, will do a big post out next weekend.


Finally paid a deposit to a fab local band, have had several emails back and forth with them and they have offered to learn our first dance song if our friend is unable to play/sing it for us which is nice!

After an ongoing saga with OH's ring it was finally correct and we picked it up yesterday just as the shop was closing!


OH also got a little pressie to give me during his speech, a K charm for my bracelet as my new surname will begin with a K :) I already have a J on it for my first name :)

We had our menu tasting today and have decided on the following:

We have decided on:
- Golden Cross Goat’s Cheese & Caramelised Red Onion Bruschetta served with Wild Roquette
- Roast Chicken Breast with Seasonal Vegetables, Roast Potatoes, Red Wine Jus for meat eaters and Feta, Fresh Mint & Pea Risotto with Crispy Shallots for the veggies
-Chocolate torte with raspberries

I am still sooo full 5 hours later!

All invites except 2 have been delivered by hand or posted, so now is the fun time waiting for RSVPs to come back!

An update! It seems to be all go go go at the moment!

Music
We went to see the band play in a pub on Friday, they were great! Much better than I thought for a relatively new band to the function scene so that's looking very promising.

FSIL is providing the quartet for before/during the ceremony and the after drinks. So we went through what we have chosen for walking down the aisle, signing the register etc. We have decided they will do some standard quartet stuff while people are arriving, and after during the drinks they will play more of their showy/fun stuff. Really hoping the weather will be good so they can play outside and mingle amongst the guests. They are not your typical quartet and don't tend to sit down at all so looking forward to this bit.

We are considering changing our first dance song to something a bit more fun, the band played it on Friday night and it got us thinking. No decisions yet but we shall see!

Décor

We wanted to have a post box made out of lego, but to have it how we want it we were looking at £200 of lego! So we are going to scrap that and incorporate lego in another way. That's still to be decided!

Cake

My mum has now officially baked the bottom tier of the cake! It is a fruit cake on the bottom so will last, she has done several try runs but it is actually cooked now! Little bit surreal! My grannie is making the flowers which will cascade down the cake and will ice all the tiers and cutting bars, so it's a joint family effort!

Invites

All day invites have gone out except 1 couple who are currently in the French alps so I will wait for them to be back in the UK later this month. Had quite a few RVSPs, in combination with people we know will be there such as close family and bridalparty we are at 40 confirmed guests already! :)

Wedding mania has struck!

Firstly, MY DRESS HAS ARRIVED! AAHH! Going in for first fitting on the 13th June, I ran round the house squealing after I got the call. So it's healthy eating and exercise for the next couple of weeks!

Just waiting on two people (a couple) to RSVP, she lives in Austria so thought it may be more tricky to sort out. If they decline I've got 3 to bump up from the evening list, so just waiting to hear either way now!

Evening invites are slowly trickling out as I see people, and started distributing invites to the hen afternoon tea my Mum is organising for the "older" ladies!

The cake is coming along nicely, here is a test run for the lisianthus' my grannie is making to go on it!


Compiling the gift list at Mr Lewis' shop next weekend, weekend after that is suit fittings for the boys, then the weekend after THAT is my fitting! Time is flying now!

Looks like it's all coming together now hon, love the flower your grannie has made! Xx
