Hi, has anyone booked any all inclusive wedding packages. What has been your experience? Is it better to book your own suppliers rather than getting a package.

We have booked a package and we get loads included. We didn't bother with their DJ though as we weren't that keen so have booked our own.

We booked the most basic package as we could get the extras (chair covers, place cards, table names etc) for cheaper doing it separately.

We've got a package with our venue but it is quite basic. It includes exclusive use of the venue, 3 course wedding breakfast, evening buffet, arrival drinks, drinks for the tables and toasting drinks, chair covers and sashes and a dance floor... if there was an option to include a DJ or other suppliers I probably would have seriously thought about it as the prices are great anyway and it would have saved me some stress. Although I have actually gone with their recommended DJ as I felt comfortable that the venue know the DJ really well and vice versa so the day should go seamlessly :)

We had a package with food, drink, ceremony , DJ etc, but have ditched the Dj and they reduced the price accordingly, as we are having a band.

we got a package deal and this included, hire of the venue,a 3 course wedding breakfast, arrival drinks, drinks at the table and toast drink, evening buffet, cake stand and knife, use of the pa system, a wedding coordinator and your wedding night in the bridal suit.

we are having our own Dj and getting our tables decorated ourselves as this wasn't included, i like doing the package as it meant you didn't have to worry about any hidden expenses.

I think packages make the whole process a lot easier, we have a package and they have contacts who they work along side with such as decor suppliers, cake makers ect, so half the job is done for you. my sister got married a few years ago and didn't have a package she said she wished she had gone with a package now after helping me with mine because it is a lot less stressful than a DIY

    met 11th December 2010
    engaged 2nd August 2013
getting married to the love of my life 11th july 2015

I feel it has been a lot easier our whole day is covered they pick me up from my lodge im staying in, red carpet for arrival, ceremony, canapés and drinks reception, 3 course wedding breakfast with 2 choices and a veggie option, wine on the tables, centre pieces, flowers for the top table, cake stand and knife, evening buffet, so much more to add that list but its a lot of stress off of us and the wedding coordinator is just amazing I love her!

    Xx

For me personally the package has been amazing, we have our wedding and everything else under one roof, our package includes the ceremony, 3 course wedding breakfast, champagne and wine, evening Buffett, disco etc. we were quite lucky as the 2nd time we went back to view the venue their dj was setting up for a Xmas party so we got to have a good chat to him, he even takes photos during the night and shows them on a big screen if you wish him too.
One thing I would say is make sure you have a good talk with your wedding venue/coordinator if having a package as you will deal with them a lot so need to have a good relationship with them.

think it just really depends on what you want,, your budget and what type of venue.. We didn't even look at anywhere that did packages, purely because we knew straight away what we wanted and what we didn't want , We knew we didn't want the usual sit down meal, to do whatever we wanted our way, our price, our alcohol , with everything having our own stamp on it, I want to choose every little thing we are having :) We knew straight away most venues don't offer what we wanted and We also wanted to have ceremony in woods so knew we weren't going to just find that easily . So straight away knew DIY was for us :) we found the perfect place and I have organised everything myself, its all been super easy - so far ! ha... pick a caterer, photographer, band, e.t.c choose your own décor, order your little extras, its really not that hard , just a few extra phonecalls and more hours researching for what you want. But I love this sort of thing, love organising, Love making little bits and im full of ideas .. The only thing which for me is the hardest thing to work out, is how much alcohol to buy and how many glasses.e.t.c . So I would say, think about what it is you want and what it is you don't want.. then work out whether DIY is for you or a package deal :) Good luck !! sooooo exciting this wedding malarkey and choosing everything :)
