Hey all I know it's tradition to have first married night alone with hubby but what if thats not possible? Im debating having my 1 year old stay at hotel over night with us. His mum has said she'd have her overnight but honestly my lo hardly ever sees her ( last time was a month ago and before that 3 months) so I don't think it's really fair, she did watch her for hr or so last month but playing in the day is one thing and routine/ settling at night is another! What are all your thoughts? X

I think you should do whatever you feel is right. My son will have just turned 3 when we get married and we said we wanted to be together as a family on the wedding night but mil has said she will have him if we change our mind. X

Tbh I think u should do what u feel comfortable with. Of corse It would be nice for you and your husband to spend the night together but I u don't feel comfortable leaving your daughter then don't! If you are both happy to have her on with u too them do that. Don't worry about tradition. It's your wedding night u do what u feel is best. Xx

Agreed, do what you feel is best for you and your child. It sounds like you will be anxious about her if she was with someone else in case she gets upset. You'll be able to have some time to yourselves once she's asleep.

If you are not 100% comfortable then have her with you. You wont be enjoying it if you are worrying about her so what is the point? My son will be 20 months and staying with my sister which he has done before- plus she doesnt drink. My MIL offered to have him the night before but as much as he likes spending time with her, she feeds him crap and lets him stay up late. When he has a big day Id rather know he was well rested than worry he is going to be a grump all day so he will be with me. :)

TBH, my experience was that we were so tired after such an exciting and full day, that it's likely that you'll both fall in to bed and fall straight to sleep! I've heard this from many brides too.
Do what you feel comfortable with, I say x

I'm having fertility treatment at the moment and it's very likely we'll have a young baby when we get married. We've spoken about what we'd do and said one of our parents would probably look after, but it's hard to say how you'll feel nearer the time, particularly when grandchildren/grandparents aren't that close. Do what's right for you xx

Do what you feel is right.

We were so knackered that we just got undressed, brushed teeth and fell asleep. No energy for anything until the morning ahem.

I agree to do what you think is best! I can imagine myself going up to the room, having a cup of tea and going to sleep!! Very romantic but I've heard from friends who are married that they were so tired from the day and so overwhelmed! Xxx

We've got 4 kids between us aged 11-21 and none of them are with us that night lol...but if they were younger and I was in your situation where the little one probably wouldn't settle I would think about keeping them with us. I agree with the others, keep life as simple as you can and if keeping her with you reduces your stress levels then do so. But at might be nice at some point to have a night to yourselves. xx

if you want the baby with you, then that's what you do, does h2b feel the same? if so, its a non - issue.

if he'd actually like one night that you are together alone, where you don't have to get up with the baby, and can just relax, is one night, really that much of an issue? could she not book an adjoining room with you or something?

im sure many wont agree, but id just have my mum look after baby if offered up, one unsettled night isn't really going to do any harm, really, is it?

Well decision been made that she's in with us and my 2 older children a14 and 11 are staying with friends my lo sleeps uninterrupted 11 hours a night anyway so know that won't be an issue it was just the fact my lo doesn't know her grandma really, h2b has already said same as above about having a brew and sleep that night! Lol x
