Hey im having the same problem. i took my mum to see my dress and she hated it but in all fairness the shop displaied it crap it was dirty and creased and we had to go bout 40 miles away for it! ive looked on the internet and also ebay which is were i have had lots of bits and bobs from and there is some shops on there. i typed in the other day on google 'internet brought dresses' and it came up a good review forum and everyone said they had found the experince fantastic! im lookign at having mine made and on e bay i have been told 400 from one and that was british and my dress in the shop is over 1000 pound so that is good but then the chinese shops are really good priced but it what you want to do! im seriously considering it though to. check out asapbay on ebay thats what people were saying they had theres from and they have good feed back! when do u get married?

Hi, I am new to here and have just seen your post. I am in the same dilemma, the website i have seen with the dress i want on is called store of dresses and there are a few people on their saying they loved their dress, but i am wary of sending money and not getting anything in return. I am getting married in June next year.

hi I have already decided that i am going to go with a custom made dress from china, a store on ebay called asapbay. It has 100% of positive feedback in the 1900 feedbacks it has got. Thats an amazing rating and if you read what people have actually said they are very very satisfied, measurements all correct and dress exactly how pictured. The reason why i have chosen a dress made in china is because it is made specifically to your measurements and you can email them to make any alterations, plus i had not seen the dress i have chosen on any uk website for shops in the uk. I have already spoken to a guy called simon at asapbay and they are very helpful sending me colour charts and quotes etc. I am getting 4 of my bridesmaid dresses made by them too and i gave him a picture of a dress i saw elsewhere and asked if they could make it in my desired colour, they said of course. I am going to get professionally measured up so i have accurate measurments to send to them. I am going to order 1 bridesmaid dress priced at £80 each and if this is to my liking and quality i will go ahead and order the other 3 and my wedding dress too. To be honest they are that cheap online that i think its well worth the gamble. I will get the 1 bridesmaid dress made in the next couple of months and report back on how it is. Hope this info helps Lea

Hi I am getting married august next year and have already seen a dress i want on ebay at £210 but same again - the family arent interfering saying shop bought best cos you can take it back. I despise paying over the odds for something and really like the idea of the ebay dress made to measure as i dont have to diet to fit into it itll fit me!!! if anyone takes the plunge can you let me know what the dress is like from ebay. Cheers!

hi there i got my dress custom made from china it cost me just over £89 with delivery and it is absolutley stunning! i too was very wary of all the talk that they rip off and not what you order but me and a friend both are very very happy with our choices to save so much money and get a dress that would most definatley cost over 800 here to buy,the seller was very friendly and very reassuring even when i emailed to say id read scary stories in mags etc,id defo say if you see one you like go for it but be prepared to wait upto 6weeks for delivery if the has alot of embroidery like mine does. congratulations on all up coming weddings and good luck. xx

Hi Ladies al very new to this wedding chat but have looked at asapbay and can't believe how gorgeous the dresses are and the prices are unreal. Think I'm going to try on different styles of dresses in the wedding shops,to give me an idea what suits me. Then order from the internet. I'm petite so this made to measure is a pure god send for someone like me. Not gettin married ontil Oct next year so if it doesn't work out hopefully I can go direct to the wedding shops then, yes I'm out the money but have plenty of time to get another one sorted. Do you like its worth the risk??? Let me know how you's get on please!!!

Hi i don't know whether this is any help but i bought my wedding dress from ebay. from a seller called red rose. the seller had 100% feedback and as the dress came to £98 including p&p and insurance i thought it was well worth the gamble. The dress came within 4 weeks and is custom made to my measurements plus with it having a corset back it can be adjusted down one size or up two. Dress itself is absolutely stunning well made with amazing beading detail. Only one complaint was packaging it was folded into a brown padded envelope and does need to be steamed to get rid of the creases. but i don't mind cos i absolutely love the dress and the quality is better than some dresses i tried on in the bridal shops! so if you want to save money on your wedding dress try ebay but please note i did my research and spoke to other buyers and was constantly informed that it is a gamble but if you can spare approx £100 go for it. best of luck stacey. P.s my dress is available from english shops priced at £840 so big saving for me!!

Hi girlies! I'm getting mine from myweddingdressforless.co.uk. It's made in china, but I did my reviews before I made up my mind and I am absolutely sold on it, all thanks to a recommendation from kessy77! It's costing me £250 for the dress which will be made to measure and that includes taxes and shipping fees. I am soooo happy :0) They also have another site millybridal.com which has a larger selection of dresses. Jackie x

Hi girls, theres some other chats on here about dresses from China so have a look, I reccomend myweddingdressforless.co.uk or milly bridal (same company). I'm having a Maggie Sottero style dress with a couple of changes. I made sure I had my measurements done twice following their guide and also ordered fabric samples first (the colours on screen are very diff from real life). I did loads of research, they are a reg company in china (even found a phone number) and have loats of great reviews on various different sites. I have been more than happy so far with the service, Neta is amazing and cant do enough to help, I am even having photos e-mailed to me so I can see the dress is as I want. I would never have been able to order this dress otherwise, was over £800 in my local dress shop. I got my dresses from additions online in their sale, bargain at £36 for two, reduced from £50 each! I can only suggest that you google, and google again the company you are looking at to buy from. Also check reviews arent from 'new users' this is a sure sign that they are composed by the company themselves. Good luck!

Hi, does anyone realise that the dresses from china are nearly all fakes, basically most of them are making dresses for the wedding dress companies and selling the same dress to the public maybe minus a few layers of petticoats and less beading etc but at the end of the day more and more bridal retailers are going out of business because of all the cheap rip offs coming from china. Check out your local shops for sale and promotions. Would then be getting a genuine dress for less.
