If u don't know what to look for then I'd suggest going to stores and trying on different styles and find the style that suits you and then get back onto the Internet and search for, I don't know say "white fishtail lace wedding dress" an see what designers come up and work around that and to your price point.... If its most popular designers you're looking for then I'd say Mori lee Essence of Australia Berkertex Ian Stuart
When I walked into my firs dress shop I had no idea either what to look for either and the lady wasn't helpful either all she kept saying was "just pick out what you like" so I did and no gowns were labeled or priced or anything... And then she told me (as she was dressing me) "o this is no good your belly is too big for this style!" And I was like "we'll if youdve helped me then we wouldn't be in this position... She also had a girl there on work experience from the local high school who just opened the door and walked into the fitting room without knocking or anything and then just stood there and didn't do anything, I wasn't asked if I'd mind if she was there or anything... So yeah I did not buy there... Another exp in the same shop was my sister had entered miss England and needed her gown altering and she took it there, when it came back from alterations they'd left the entire hem hanging down and it looked awful... The same woman who saw me said to my sister "we'll you're gonna have to pay again" ermmm NO what seamstress would make a mess of that and leave an ugly hem hanging down through a gorgeous gown... So, then proceeded a tug of war between the woman, sis and my mum.... It was awful and in the end I just shouted 'you're gonna rip the dress' grabbed it and walked out the shop with it! So yeah needless to say she's out of business and I'm NOT sorry because she was an out and out b!tch!!!

I would suggest doing what I did, go to a good bridal boutique that's happy to help you and try on every different style, cut and shape in different materials and levels of detailing.
You'll soon find the perfect dress x

My daughter works in a wedding dress shop and the have brides coming in saying "oh I must have a dress by so n so " daughter says that they get their dresses out and won't say who the designer is to start off with as she tells brides that people will say WOW to the dress because of the fit etc not bc of who designed it

Mrsdeaton2be, I know a lady in Cheltenham that may be able to help..? I don't know how far you're willing to travel? She is avarages about £2,500 and the are totally custom - I can't see that it's green being an issue... X
