I have a query for the ladies who have got their dress/been to wedding dress appointments. I'm just curious how long an appointment usually is and how many dresses it is normal/okay to try on?
I've been on the websites for the bridal boutiques in my area and found the dresses that I like, I'm not searching as to whether or not they are in budget and will be removing them accordingly. I don't intend to go in and look probably until May (it's really the longest i can stop myself for, I'm so excited) but for some places I've found like 8 dresses that I love and would like to try on. Hopefully the budget will narrow it down but I just wondered, is it like just try on a couple of dresses or if i want to try on 10, is that an alright number? I imagine I'll have had enough after 4 or 5 but... well, we'll see.

I think you have to see how it goes when you get there, you may find the people in the shop are great and pick some out for you you hadn't already considered, plus may have different ones in the shop than just on the website. Also you may not like the atmosphere in one shop so try on less, and try on more in others if you get a really fab assistant :)
Appointments I went to lasted around an hour or so.

Appointments are generally an hour but sometimes you can have longer if they don't have others booked in, i would say when you ring up to book, that you want to go try on X amount, and they will accommodate you, i would start now, you need time to decide and you need time to order it in, make sure you try lots of different styles as i went for the complete opposite of what i thought i wanted, just try on the one you thought you wouldn't like, as you never know, also try lots of different shops if you can, you will always go back to the place where you fell in love, don't feel pressured to make a decision either, its a lot of money and you can walk away, have a think and come back, you are the customer, good luck xxx

I have been to quite shops around the country and I would say they normally are a min an hr . If you know the name of dresses maybe call beforehand and mention them so they are ready to try on and also means you have time to look around knowing they are there :)

I only went to 1 shop but we were there 3 hrs in total but that includes us sat having a coffee with the owner when it went quiet at the end...... I think I tried about 5-6 dresses on that I hadn't pre chosen and found 'The one' which is now hanging comfortably in my sons bedroom

Thanks ladies. I've filtered on price now and the most is 6. I've also added them all to a pinterest board as I keep changing my mind so the more i see them if I suddenly don't like them I take them off. Going to book a holiday at the end of April to have something else to get excited about and then start booking appointments when we get back :) x

Generally the appointments that I have had have lasted an hour though one went over a bit but I was the last appointment so it was okay. You will find that you may like a dress you didn't expect so don't be afraid to try on something you wouldn't normally think would suit you. The dress I chose for myself is definetely not what I thought I would like lol.
When I found the right dress for me I didn't want to take it off and after standing and chatting with the shop owner I didn't realise I had been wearing the dress for a good half an hour! When I went back to try it on again when it was on my shortlist I wore it for 50 minutes and still didn't want to take it off lol

it really depends on the shop most of the ones where u need an appointment have been 1-1.5 hours and you generally try on about 3-5 dresses after you have had a chat and looked around then narrowed it down and tried a couple on. Generally ended up retrying on dresses i liked aswell. However went to both a bridal outlet and a bridal store which didnt require appointments and there was no time limit or amount of dresses to try on. However it can get a bit confusing trying quite a few dresses on in one go they all start to blend id say go more than once and play dress up its so much fun x

The first appointment I had was around 2 hours, but the other shops I went to the appointments were about an hour. I managed to try 3 or 4 dresses in that time though. They basically sent me round the shop with a bunch of tags to choose the dresses I wanted to try.
