Hello ladies, my name is Schirin, I am 24 years young and live in Germany with my fiancé Grant ( I am half german/ half welsh & my other half is full English just stationed over here ) . We are getting married in Norwich on 1st July 2017.
Our engagement story: As Grant was in UK on a course for a few months, we decided to have a long weekend away together so we booked a lush 4+-star hotel in Bavaria to visit the Schloss Neuschwanstein known as the " chitty chitty bang bang castle ". So on our second day which was the 26th June 2015, we organised a trip up the highest alps. As soon as we got there it starting pouring down with rain, we had to wait 30 min in the hut until it stopped, so we decided to take a walk about. We found a incredible spot, just us two, right at the end of the cliff over viewing hole of Bavaria. All of a sudden he got down on one knee, holding my hand and asked me to be his soul mate for life. I was gobsmacked!! OF COURSE I SAID YES. Then he got the ring out of his back pocket ( still down on one knee ) opened it and said " well put the ring on then " I held my hand towards him and said " WELL that's your job " HAHA That's the main thing I remember , as the moment does just gaze past you.
A few seconds later a family that were hiking the alps walked by and asked me to take a family photo of them of course I did and as happy as I was I told them my story, the son ( about 28 years old ) loves photography and does it as a hobby. So there and then he took some photos of us and in the evening we met him at our hotel as they were celebrating the engagement of his sister and he took some more photos and send them on a disc with a lovely letter to our flat ( he didn't want anything for the photos ) Soooo kind of him, there are still good people in this world!!

Aw congratulations. Lovely place to be proposed to - I went with some German friends to that castle one winter and it was beautiful eveni in the snow!!!
My OH proposed on a road trip around France. He hid the ring in a map of France. He did it on the intention of mapping out the roads for the next day, I opened the map and inside was a note and then he got down on knee and proposed. He had concealed the ring in a black velvet bag inside the map as well!

Hi Schirin. My fiance is half German too! I've been to that castle, its lovely.
We bought a house last year and at the top of the garden you can see a lovely sunset over hills and fields. He had set up the garden and lovely candles etc but when I got home I forced him to paint the kitchen as I had no idea what had been planned! By the time we finished we had missed the sunset! So the next day he had to set it all up again for me and dragged me outside! I felt so bad and told him he should have just forced me out there in the first place but he knew that would lead to an argument and he didn't want to propose after an argument! Apparently he'd been planning to propose there since we first viewed the house. At least this made for a funnier story! x
