I'm currently toying with the idea of having a wedding website for our guests to cut down on stationary costs. Being able to provide all the information needed and people being able to RSVP is quite appealing.

I did a search for this topic being discussed and found that pretty much all of them were posted in 2010/11 and I don't know how relevant these are anymore?

Are wedding websites now old fashioned? How many are still using them now we're in 2016?

We created a wedding website but generally I don't think people looked at it too much. I enjoyed making it though. Ours was through myw3dd1ng dot com.

We also had an event on FB.

:( That's disheartening to hear. I've spent hours on our website and saved us a lot of money on inserts. I'll be really disappointed if our guests don't look at it. I'm rather proud of my efforts haha

People did look at ours when it was first made but I think they just forgot it was there. Like Leanne said, we had people asking us questions where the answers to which were included on the website, so they obviously hadn't read it fully/had forgotten. I still think it's a nice supplement to have - but would also include all relevant information on the invitations.

We created a website, & so far people have been using it. We haven't put all the information on at once so it keeps people coming back to know the most recent update regarding the wedding.

I plan on saving money on our invites too, which is why the website is essential for us.

I am creating a website as we are getting married abroad and want people to have all the information they need - I am hopeful they will read it especially as thy all have access to computers. I am planning on putting our flights, hotel options etc on it which we probably wouldn't want in the invite. I am still sending invites though. But I am also doing it because I love the idea of it, even if people don't look at it that much. i am using the same company as Flossie.

I would say if it is something you fancy giving a go do it, if its going to cause you stress think about whether it is worth it.
