hi all, will be getting married in july 2011, hopefully outdoors if weather permits. the main reason we have chosen our venue is due to the outside space. am having doubts now as if the weather is bad, there is not really much room inside to do photographs and im worried.

If you are worried about photographs - I would see you photographer as he/she will know if there is room and enough nice places to take pics indoors :) x

dont worry girls it will be fantastic whatever the weather and your photographer will get some wonderful shots even if its chucking it down. After all its his job so he should be used to the english weather. If your worried about you and your guests getting wet how about provideing a few umbrellas for them? You can get some white ones and decorate according to your theme? :-)

P.s Im getting married in April :-( dreading the April showers lol

The weather has a brilliant habit of being nice on your wedding day. My sister got married at the end of sept last yeat, it rained all week but on the day is was a heatwave. I too have been worried about this, up until today its been forecasted to rain but today the weather is showing that we will have a little bit of sun.
I have seen some beautiful wedding pictures with brollies so once i get over my dress being ruined im sure it will be fine x x

im getting married outside in england, its called the pavilion at lane end in bucks. its basically a wooden gazeebo but a very posh one where the registrar and me and hubby will be with seats arranged surrounding it and the gazeebo is liscensed for weddings. its overlooking lots of grass and a pond and looks lovely. if it does rain we can get married inside tho

oh i was told gazeebos weren't classed as a perminent structure and no roof hmm! i will look into it more as i had thrown that idea out of the window thanks for this! my ultimate dream would be to get married in an ancient woodland gorgeous! x

The worst thing for me would be a heatwave, which is feesable as its august but then again bank holidays in august are usually wet!!

Alsbetty, have you checked out the national trust / forestry commission websites. There's a place near me called Westonbirt Arbouretum which isn't quite ancient woodland but it is lots of pretty trees... they do weddings there and it's gorgeous, my sister's friend got married there a couple of years ago.

you can hire umbrellas if you think your day isn't going to be nice! saw some lovely golf umbrella sized ones in clear plastic with a white edge in a wedding magazine which you can hire - can't remember name of company tho! am seriously looking into it as getting married on August bank holiday weekend so its bound to rain!! x x
