My son and daughter are going halves in it, and while we are away on honeymoon they are completely re-decorating my living room, kitchen, hall and downstairs bathroom!
Its something I have been wanting to get done all year but have been too busy wedding planning. And my daughter and son were stuck for something to buy us as a wedding present and offered to do that for us while we are away.....and come back to a lovely decorated house....its actually worth more than just the money....its gonna save me the hassel of doing it which is fantastic. ( I say ME cos its always me that decorates)
I had already bought some paint and paper....enough to do the living room, and they will use that, but they are buying the paint for the rest of it. I am so happy with this, it kills 2 birds with one stone, it gives them an idea for a wedding present and saves me all that work.
My daughter is very artistic too and asked if she could have free reign on the kitchen design....I told her as long as its not crazy colours then yes she can., (I dont want purple and orange walls!) she said she will do it similar to her own kitchen and she decorated that in a country kitchen / shabby chic kind of style.....yes I am very happy with this wedding present.
OK its maybe not everyone would appreciate, but for us its perfect and just what we want.

It may help with the post wedding blues when its all over too. As you will then have fresh surrounding to come back to.
I usually decorate every year, 1 year I do down stairs and the next I do upstairs, but I have been too busy this year. But I cant let them buy all that stuff, so I told her I already had quite a bit here......I have got some, but I will buy a bit more so that they dont have to spend too much money.....they will never know I didnt already have it. I cant let them spend all their money, its good enough just to do the work .
