we dont want to claim on our insurance as this will mean our premiums go up, we want the guy done for it but the cops wont even interview him as apparently....

seeing a drug dealer arrested a few yards away from you on a wednesday, outside our house, then having the word "Grass" painted across the rear window of our landy on the following saturday night, combined with a load of other random paint marks is "hearsay" rather than preschool mathematics!

they are not raising a crime as the spray paint came off with petrol and elbow grease on the metal & glass parts of the vehicle which means its non-permanent so therefore does not come under "Criminal Damage" and yet its hasnt come off the plastic parts of the vehicle, part of the door is slightly bent & big time scratched where they tried entering the vehicle, making those parts permanent damage, however the copper was useless he really couldnt be bothered - probably too concerned the guy who did it will pull out the "racism card".

We even said to the guy that when war memorials are graffitied all over & they get someone to come clean them up, that comes off but they still consider that to be criminal damage so why isnt vandalism, attempted grand theft auto, damage to personal property, attempted burglery.... there are so many things i can think of that this will come under... the copper just shrugged it off... f-ing useless!

Could you go over the officer's head? Maybe if you contact your local police station you can get a response from someone higher up.

thats ok, i just had a nice civil chat wth the guy that did it (we know it was him, but havent got proof) anyway, he told me last night he was shouting "grass" over at h2b, considering "grass" was written on the windscreen, this is pretty condeming in itself, however, he kept saying he didnt do it, i was saying "like i say im not saying it was just wanted to clarify that you dont think we grassed on you on the wednesday cos we had been out till minutes before you were patted down etc and we know you deal on the street which we couldnt care less about so long as its not on the end of our drive or in view of our kids".... either way him telling me he was yelling "grass" at h2b lastnight combined with that particular word being sprayed onto the landy.... he basically condemned himself.... stupid kid! but we seem to have a fake understanding that so long as he doesnt deal in view of our kids we have no reason to "grass" and have reminded him that we have never mentioned the dealing to him before now, all we have done is walk up to the car collecting and asked them politely to drive further down the road where our kids cant see, reminded him that no one collecting has ever had a problem with us asking this before so we couldnt care less so long as they are polite enough to respect that we have children we have no reason to do anything other than ask them to take it out of view. he was really polite during the convasation however seems to think h2b has been sending him texts, which he hasnt, he even slipped up & told me his address, surname etc stating he doesnt mind if we send the cops round cos hes not dealing anymore (what he actually means is that its not kept at his address anymore lol- i know where it is kept as i see him go there everytime there is a collection lol) hes so nieve i struggled not to laugh and remain calm & polite during my act lol

    New Venue:
Not far from us, never even seen it & yet its just down the road!
    Venue fee is £65
Food will be £7.95 per person as I'm not giving anyone a choice, I know everyone likes a roast dinner.... so thats what they are having lol so the cost of food will be approx £238.50
    In house DJ is £200
Total - £503.50 (£216.50 cheaper than original venue)

Its a very small venue with only 7 bedrooms, they have provisionally booked our date & I just need to call them once I have passed my driving test on 28th March to go to view. Once we have viewed & had a meeting with them, I will arrange to have a meal there asking if we can taste the roast to be sure. Once we have paid £65 for the deposit, they will then hold all 7 bedrooms for us, we will be responsible for getting the rooms booked. This should be rather simple due to the amount of people that will be needing accomodation on the day. So will need to be adding more overnight options to the inserts for guests.

Ok have sent email to new possible venue regarding chair covers. So just waiting for the reply.

Tanya called me today regarding the power user monthly competition prize...

We discussed the design, I sent her a picture of the post box via email, she said it is something she can do. My sons allergy is not one that she has been asked to accomodate before so she is looking forward to experiment with this. I will be sending her the recipe that I have tried and tested with my son & Tanya will just adapt the quantities for the different tiers.

She will also be surprising us with the design on the cupcakes as we haven't a clue what we would like. (whilst sticking to ingredients our son can have).

The Candy Buffet will be catering for approx 70 people. However due to the distance from Nottingham (where Tanya is based) to Huntingdon (where we are) I have offered to provide the glass wear & tongs & scoops so that Tanya would not need to return the following day to collect the glass wear. I already bought the jars for my DIY Candy Buffet anyway & it just seems to make more sense that we should provide these things rather than asking her to come all the way back to collect everything. It just seems more practical. Makes more sense. She has been brillient so far & I dont feel comfortable with her coming that far just to collect everything again.

I am just awaiting the contract (I requested one to be on the safe side considering the cancellation of the venue recently), once i have received the contract I will be informing the other cake lady. I also already have the ribbon & brooches for the cake so rather than them going to waste I will be sending them to Tanya closer to the time.

frickin typical! There was a fight down the street involving our next door neighbour & another guy (our mate) & the person we thought did our car over & some other guy (friend of the person we thought did it)... well...

News just in the guy we think it was & his mate just got arrested for the fight (they basically attacked our next door neighbours son), & the mate said he thinks the NDN (next door neighbour) was after him for spray painting his car!!!! so obviously NDN has stated it wasnt his car it was ours, so now I have called cops to state it was our car the guy just basically confessed to so they are linking the fight & the vandalism crimes together.

Now we just have to wait to see if they show the guy photos of our car to see if he admits to doing that particular car!

    Bored of waiting now....

    Felt like Christmas today!

Had 4 parcels! H2B has a parcel too - his is probably car related, but mine was 1kg of bubblegum bottles for part of his anniversary present, 5 sets of tongs, 5 scoops & the last 2 brooches for the cake! Then we also had our replacement sofa delivered (the other one arrived in December, damaged, so they replaced it but had to wait for the new one to be made for us).

ok... so having called the camper van hire place regarding honeymoon.... they have ceased trading as it was too much work with small children & full time jobs... understandable.

So... they told me where their van "Ringo" had gone when they sold the company.... I checked their website.... they are not taking bookings & are selling up adding £5000 plus onto the price they paid for each of the van bought from the previous company! Cheeky so and so's!

So after alot of trouble... I have found.... a company with only 2 vans, one of them is extremely new to them & they are currently giving it a refurb! The prices are slightly cheaper however, they do have a £500 refundable deposit on top of the hire price... so this is £500 more than my budget, however, they take cheques but dont cash them unless they have to (ie a speeding ticket comes through after the hire but during the hire period etc). So hopefully, I can do the cheque idea, then at least my contingency fund will have increased to cover that the week after the honeymoon (due to another pay day).

This honeymoon plan is hard work!

Not really.... no toothbrush or side of the bed questions though?

    Questions were:
    1. my job title
    2. His job title
    3. have either of us been married/civil partnered before
    4. have either of us been known by any other name

think that was it.... those were the questions we were both asked whilst the other waited outside. as soon as i had that receipt in my hand i jokingly stated to h2b "haha now your screwed!" the Registrar jokingly replied "yep the monies been paid, theres no backing out now" then my 4 year old said "yeh daddy!" lol was funny! Had to be there lol

Boys suits arrived.... My 6yr old has not really grown much last year so he is due a growth spurt so bought the 8yr suit. The trousers are way too long and he needs a belt the jacket is a bit big however the shirt and waist coat are all good.

Youngest is 4 & just keeps growing, he's in 6yr jumpers already. So i bought him the 6yr suit. The trousers fit perfect round the waist, are too long, the shirt fits great with a bit of growing room in.the arms. The jacket is big but waist coat fits fine.

All else fails they can wear school trousers lol

Getting a bit on edge now.... I still don't have a contract from Cake-Elegance (the company providing the cake package prize i won on here)...

I have now resorted to creating a contract myself & sending it to her... its been nearly 6 weeks :( so here's hoping she doesn't get offended. But i hate not having contract, whether its a prize, family member or I'm paying a company, it shouldn't matter, i still need a contract.

In the mean time H2B is wanting to add all aunts/uncles for the ceremony/meal which means thats an extra 17 people to add to the guest list.... so I've told him he needs to give me £20 per month for the extra guests.

Here's an updated timescale for wedding funding...

    22nd April 2014
    Cape - £26
    Photographer - £50

    20th May 2014
    Goblets - £18.49

    27th May 2014
Cottage Hire Booking Fee - £35

    17th June 2014
    Videographer (college student) - £50
    Cake Topper - £20.49

    24th June 2014
    DJ - £200 - (Bob)

    15th July 2014
    Evening Invites - £22.52

    22nd July 2014
    Transport - £60

    19th August 2014
    RTTS Tickets - £140

    9th September 2014
    Food & Corkage - £444.67

    14th October 2014

    3rd February 2015

I'd be a bit anxious as well if there was no contract. Have you been able to speak to anyone there?

yeh i spoke with tanya (the owner), within the first few days... 6th March as above.... but am as yet to receive a contract, i emailed her and received a reply stating that she is sorry she has not sent a contract yet, however he has been rather busy & when she gets the time to put it all down in a contract she will send it out to me. I might just be being impatient, but maybe its just my OCD regarding paperwork & the diploma i did in wedding planning that its just buzzing around in my head that i need a contract, i don't know, but i sent her one of my contracts anyway (I have contracts written up for everything, they just need to be personalised as and when needed, so i personalised it & sent it off to her via email stating i hope she is not offended but i really need a contract & feel free to let me know if she feels i have missed anything - obviously my contracts all cover both me & the supplier, they are the contracts i use for my clients & their suppliers).

In the meantime, when I booked the venue on the 6th, I was told to expect an email by the 9th regarding all we have discussed during the meeting, but so far nothing, so on the 11th, having not received any email from them, I sent them an email using the same sample letters i use for clients, which has everything included in it. Right down to a current price estimate based on estimated numbers stating that the price is subject to change due to not having final numbers yet lol

I'm just too impatient i think...

Hmmm.... well i received a reply to my email from the baker & I'm not really sure what to make of it....

She starts by saying she has had a few concerns regarding my sons dietary requirements & she has raised the concerns with UKB. (Now before I continue I should mention that when UKB called me to inform me of the prize, they asked if I would like to accept it, before making my decision to accept, I asked them if the baker caters to food allergies, specifically a no milk diet, this would just mean that we would opt for a lemon sponge as there is no milk in it, then swap the butter for soya spread, I was informed that the baker does, & having spoken to the baker on the phone, she stated that she has not had a request such as this before, but that it will not be a problem). So the email continues....

The baker has spoken with UKB, who have confirmed she has not signed a contract to cater for special diets. She states she is concerned that the cake will not taste right and that all her recipes are tried and tested so she can be sure the cake will both look & taste great. She completely understands that I will have some concerns & has some other options for me to consider...

1.A 4-tier cake and 75 cupcakes as per your recipe. This will need to be tested to see that the structure of the cake will hold secure when they are stacked. The smaller cake with cupcakes will compensate for the time and extra cost for ingredients.

    2. A 5-tier cake and 150 cupcakes as per my tried and tested recipes and as a goodwill gesture I will provide a smaller cake as per your recipe for your son to enjoy on the day.

The candy buffet will remain the same as we have discussed. (to cater for approx 70 people).

I have not replied with an answer yet, have simply stated that h2b is at work right now, & that I will get back to her approx 6:30pm this evening.

Now don't get me wrong, I am very greatful for the package, but it just seems a bit odd that UKB & the baker have told me upon accepting the prize that swapping butter for soya spread will not be a problem, then it takes ages to get a contract, whilst being told in the meantime that the only reason I have not recieved one yet is due to her being busy, & now I have instigated the contract signing by sending her one to sign, all of a sudden there are these "concerns". I have to say, that this has made me even more concerned that I have not had a contract!

If I had not sent her a contract to sign, how long would it have taken to get these concerns she has out in the open? This is something that had already been sorted by her agreeing to swapping one ingredient for another. There was no down grade to the package mentioned when she agreed this. The soya spread does not cost anymore than any other butter (We get tescos butter at £1.49 a small block, compared to pure soya spread at £1.50 for twice the amount) so I do not understand how she has figured the ingredients will cost more? Thereby having to down grade the package out of nowhere.

I will be informing h2b of this when he returns from work tonight, so we can figure out what to do.... but which option would you ladies choose?

Hmmmm, difficult. I'd say go with her option of 5 tier, cupcakes and then a smaller cake for your son to enjoy because I can just see problem and problem, not to mention the stress of it with her using your recipe. Not that your cake isn't good at all, but I have a feeling that if she's saying this now then what's going to happen closer to the day. Would you want that worry? I think she'll say about the structure, testing it will cost extra money that UKB didn't factor in etc etc and can see her digging her heels in and possibly refusing. Just my opinion of course hun xx

opinions is exactly what i am looking for hun! Thank you for sharing.

Like i say, i can completely understand what she is saying but that its annoying that she will agree to it, then spend ages to get a contract out, then when one is sent to her, she shows her concerns, i don't have a problem with her having concerns, i have a niggle that she didnt voice these at the time. it is literally just the butter that changes the recipe is exactly the same.

Having spoken with h2b, all he says is "whatever is better". We agree that she should have voiced her concerns sooner.

Having called Tanya, the 3 of us have agreed....

    1. 5 tier cake with normal butter
    2. 150 cupcakes with normal butter icing
    3. Candy Buffet for 120 people

Then I will make a cake specifically for our son & the boys can do a cake cutting too as its their day as much as it is ours as they have to be re-registered & they are our host too (invites are all from them "mum & dad are getting married" etc)

    No problem!

I think actually having a separate cake for your son is nicer for him because he's going to feel important and special having his very own cake, he's got a role and be involved as it were. Irritating that she didn't voice these concerns to start with and acted unprofessionally by not replying/ignoring etc. x

Catherine - I think the kids will enjoy joining in with the cake cutting too. It is irritating, she has now sent a contract but I have had to re-do it (copy paste from excel onto publisher) as when printing it prints on 3 or 4 sheets as the page allignment on the document she sent was all wrong so I would have to try to match the pages next to eachother as well as under eachother.... was so much easier just making it fit onto a publisher document! It is unprofessional I agree, but like I say I am very anal regarding these things anyway.

In the meantime - I have just emailed my two local colleges the following emails regarding photography & videography...

    PHOTOGRAPHY
    To Whom it may concern,

I am getting married on 25th March 2015 and would really love to offer a photography student the opportunity to gain some work experience and work on a real job. I am ideally looking for someone who has access to their own transport due to the locality of the venues which are in Huntingdon and Holywell, near St Ives.

I am more than willing to cover the costs of petrol and disc for any photographs taken. although I would like a copy of all images to use print as and when I choose for framing & giving to guests/family etc, copyright of the images would remain that of the student to enable them to start building a portfolio and/or be used in their final piece.

I would offer the student £30 to take photographs from 1pm at the reception venue in Holywell, of my dress and accessories, to then go to the Registry office in Huntingdon to be there by 2:30pm in order to take photographs of my Grooms arrival (I have surprise transportation booked for my Groom and would like photos of his arrival). Then we would like posed shots and some candid shots up until the end of the first dance to include the cutting of the cake and first dance. I will also provide the student with a meal during this time.

Upon receipt of the disc of all images, I will give the student a further £20 and a written reference for any future jobs.

The student will be working on their own, allowing them to express their creativeness. We would like to meet with any students that you deem suitable so that we can discuss our requirements further and meet the student in person and get to know them.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Many Thanks,

OK so previously I put up a copy of our vows in working progress, lastnight they were finally completed, & we have even timed how long it takes us to read them, we are both happy with them now...

    Groom:
I promise to put the top on the toothpaste, my dirty washing in the washing basket and not to clean my work boots on the kitchen table. Oh, and to love you always.

    Bride:
I promise to learn to cook something other than spag bol, to fill the dishwasher straight away & not leave anything in the sink, not to hog the bathroom and use all the hot water, and never to ask, “does my bum look big in this?” and expect an honest answer.

    Groom:
I pledge to do my share of the dusting, the hoovering, the cooking, the washing up, making the bed, cleaning the bathroom, doing the ironing, mowing the lawn, walking the dog, washing the car, decorating the house and, if I am still physically able to at the end of the day, to love you.

    Bride:
I pledge to care for you in sickness and in health, unless it is self-inflicted and at two o’clock in the morning, not to elbow you in the ribs too hard when you are snoring, to let you in after a night out with the lads and to care for your prized collection of beer bottle caps.

    Groom:
I vow to pretend to understand you when I don’t, to admit that I am wrong when I mistakenly think I am right, and to bring you chocolates at least once a week as I am bound to have done something that I should apologise for.

    Bride:
I vow not to phone my Mum more than seven times a week, to relinquish my share of the duvet, Surrender the tv remote and to accept all your bad habits as being what makes you as lovable as you are.

    Groom:
I promise to pay as much attention to you as I do my car, this as you know will be a tough one for me, she’s my baby after all!

    Bride:
I promise to love you always, even when you’ve spent all day on your car & have left grease & oil marks all over the walls & doors trying to get to the sink.

    Groom:
I will take you in my arms when you need to be held.

    Bride:
I will listen when you need to talk.

    Groom:
I will laugh with you in times of joy, & comfort you in times of sadness.

    Bride:
I will love you for who you are, and help you to become all that you can be.

    Both:
I can't wait to grow old with you.

RSVP's Arrived today! That's another thing out of the way!

I decided I don't like my post box that the kids helped me make, so I have been painting boxes for the last 2 days, I am nearly finished the painting, then I will put some ribbon & brooch round each box & stack them, this will then become our post box, will take a picture when I have finished.

Thank you ladies, it took a long time to get them right!

I dont mind you stealing them either, I stole them myself & just adjusted them slightly lol.

The worst of it is... I have been trying to write h2b's speech (he has no clue what to say, doesnt do public speaking, lots of people, hates the idea of attention all on him etc)... I cant get his speech right but at the same time it took me 2 minutes to write my own speech (i have a few surprises for him throughout the day which includes needing a speech to give him things from his idols etc) but its so hard to write his!
