I had my eyebrows plucked and bikini line waxed for the first time last week. Been having my legs waxed for ages, but took me a while to get up the courage to get my bikini line done. My problem is, I still have little red dots all over - and that's 4 days after! So I've moved my pre-wedding appointment back from the day before, to the Weds before instead. Mind you I do have fairly sensitive skin.

Didn't actually hurt as bad as I thought. Worst bit was the V crease which also tickled having the wax applied - LOL.

The most painful thing for me was actually having my eyebrows done - my eyes watered!!

I'm going to have regular waxes on the 6-8 months running up to my wedding me thinks cuz surely, the first time would be the worst...you'll gain a resistence or immunity to the pain...or am I just being naive??lol xxx

I really need to start my waxing regime now. I'm going to have a Brazilian before the wedding. Everything else gets shaved!

I've started an IPL deal for 9 sessions of underarms & 6 of bikini line for £99. 3 sessions in on my underarms and it's going well - 40% of the hair hasn't come back at all and the rest is finer. I used to wax but my skin reacted sooo badly for so long I gave up after a few months lol! Xx

My skin reacts really badly to waxing and shaving, the only thing that works well for me is hair removal cream but even then I have to be careful with it! Was tempted to try an epilator but they're quite pricey and I fear will give me the same results as waxing does. But hey no ones gonna see my legs under a wedding dress, right? right?! Haha :)

For the girls who are getting a rash after waxing / shaving, use a tree cream for the first couple of days in the morning and night and then after day two or three use a product called tend skin. It helps to prevent ingrown hairs and is fab! I used both of these for years after hair removal coz my skin was so sensitive. Best solution though is laser hair removal ;) well worth it! Xx

i usually shave as when i tried waxing at home i was left sticky and just as hairy as before i started!! not good!! Although to remain hair free i need to do it daily which isnt good really but i darent go for a professional wax cos i got stupidly sensitive skin and i cant even use the removal cream anymore as it just makes me itch and doesnt really get rid of all the hair :( want to pluck up courage to get an epilator but the wet ones expensive!! plus i need something for down there too as i hate it but cant use the cream cos it hurts :( ahh well looks like i will be trying out a wax for wedding and honeymoon lol at least i wont have to worry about ingrowing hairs lol xx

ive never had anything done proffessionaly, due to being so poor, lol, i wax my legs most of the time, but sometimes shave them, i shave my arms and bikini line, and i dont really do much with my eyebrows as my h2b says dont bother as he loves me just the way i am, if i pluck them they end up looking stupid. but im gonna have to do something for the big day, just dont know what, ive never had them waxed before or bikini line. any ideas what i should do, only i cant afford expensive treatments all the time, please post on my wall or message my please please please, i dont want to look like a tramp on my big day lol.

I agree with Mrs Wilson - eyebrow threading is great (if the person doing it is too!). Although to be fair ive never had them waxed - too scared of one/both getting ripped off lol! Xx

I cant abide shaving and have waxed for a few years now but am about to have the IPL laser treatments. Only downside is that you can only shave while having the treatment so it is driving me nuts. I feel like I am either a yeti or walking like John Wayne! ha ha

Jilly17 I've been having some IPL and have carried on shaving as normal, there is no need to let the hair grow inbetween treatments

Ok so I just tried to epilate my legs for the first time. Result? Still hair on legs and they're very red! Maybe I need to let the hair grow a bit?

You'll be fine Linzi. Close your eyes and picture your wedding dress so you're not thinking about the waxing! Lol.xx

i cant find an epilator cheap enough the cheapest i seem to be able to get one for is £40!! Not good!!! especially as i dont even know if i could handle the pain and that isnt even for a wet/dry one!! apparently it a lot worse if you do it whilst dry!! :s!! still not too sure of waxing either cos couldnt deal with the hairy legs in between waxing!!!

I got one for £7 brand new of the bay of e. Saying that, as my previous post says it didn't seem to work. I checked the reviews of the one that I got and it was worth nearly £50 so I don't know what's wrong. I'm letting the hair grow a bit longer and giving that a go. :0)

Talking of epilators, it’s effortless and easy to use, and you just have to move the epilator opposite in the direction of hair growth. Good epilators can remove your hair in a single pass whereas, and some epilators take several passes. Whereas Waxing is a difficult job if you’re a beginner, as we said earlier, we do not recommend Waxing.
