We have just came back from our first day at looking at venues with h2b and mil and i feel outnumbered. My opinion didnt seem to matter cause h2b had his mind made up before we got there and his mum agreed with him. We still have 5 more places to check out. ill have him killed before we get married. Sorry needed to rant!!!!!

Its all about the first dance. I have it pictured in my head as we get up at the lights are dimmed and athe main light is from a fairy-light back drop. As we start the dance a bubble machine starts. Now normally in the least romantic person there is, so this is the 1 thing that i want. So why can't i have it?

Teres the question! Why cant you have it? Bubble machines in all fairness are not overly pricey, and you need a venue with a light dimmer or something and you can get fairy light nets and strings on a low budget. There is nothing stopping you decorating things so that they dont look cheap (or christmassy) and you never know, if you tell him what you are dreaming off and look round a venue he might fall in love with something else. Me and h2b sat and discussed and made a list of what we wanted from our reception, what the venue had to offer us and what would be ideal but we could live without....with that list in mind i set about looking for somewhere while he was at work, found somewhere, veiwed it, took him photos and he made an appointment to look round and put the deposit down there and then. It worked because we decided what we wanted from a venue before either of us could "set our hearts" on somewhere that wasnt suitable for the others ideals.

To be honest we are doing ours on a budget. Thats why we are taking so long to get married. I would love be be married now without all this 'dressing'. So when we wre looking a venues we selected those with the best deal, and thats what we are looking at.

Im on a budget too hun but we are going alone to view another venue tomorrow.... i would advise you guys go alone .... its special and its a big decision whether your on a budget or not :D

We are going with my parents as we cant drive and its about 12 miles away - but my parents are going to have tea in the bar until we're finished then have a quick look round and have a bar meal with us there

just tell h2b that there are more options and he needs to be open about them. me and h2b are going to a view a hotel on saturday and 2bh i dont want to get married there, but im going purely cos h2b wants to have a look. it might turn out to be gorgeous so im going with an open mind and thats what your h2b needs to do xx
