So haven't been on in a while work seems to have taken over my life just! Anyway got a few more thinks done and booked yay!!
But one things that's been playing in my mind a lot is my grandad is walking me down the aisle I don't know my dad and don't have any sort of relationship with my mum! When we got engaged there was no question that it wouldn't be him but as the years have plodded on I don't really have much time for him as he has done things that I don't agree with.

He has fallen out with his brother for many years now and didn't even go to his mums funeral in April, anyway I have invited my uncle to my wedding as I have no problem with him and want him to be part of our day, but it's been worrying me that my grandad might not turn up because of this and I really don't need the added stress of it so I was thinking of the idea of having our son who will be 7 at the time walking me down and just having my grandad as a guest instead has anyone done this we are having a church wedding so will this be allowed?

    Sorry for the long post!

Not sure but cannot see why not. I had my son walk me down the aisle but with my step dad. Worth asking the church to see what they suggest, if yea then go for it,

Surely if your granddad knew he was walking you down the aisle he would make sure he was there is that's what you wanted.

I don't think it would be a problem at all. Would have to ask the church. There's a part which says who brings *** to marry *** when the dad says I have but its nothing legal so no reason why would need someone older.

Does he know he is walking you down the aisle and have you asked him? If you have, would you not be hurting his feelings by changing your mind?

Or why not have your son AND grandad? That way if he doesn't turn up, it's not going to be a problem.

I agree, granddad and son would be lovely, at least that way, if he doesn't come, you will still have your boy :D
