    Hi ladies,

I only recently met my dad, so my grandad was always my father figure but sadly passed away at the end of last year. His wish was always to walk me down the aisle, as he isnt here i dont feel there is anyone else in mine or my partners place who can take that place so Ive decided to walk down the aisle alone. My H2B thinks ill regret it but my mum understands and thinks its nice.

Has anyone else walked down the aisle alone? Id like peoples personal experiences, or opinions on it please!

    Tia :) xx

Hi MrsC2Be, I agree with your mom and think it is a lovely idea and you could always wear a locket or have on put in your flowers with a picture of your Grandad in and then he would still be walking you down the aisle, I hope that makes sense? My step-dad is walking me down but I am having a small piece of blue gardening string placed in my bouquet in memory of my Grandad as he always used to tie his trousers up with it and would never wear a belt.

I'm thinking of walking down the aisle alone too. My Dad passed away 7 weeks ago and just can't imagine anyone taking his place so I would rather do it alone. I've found a locket of my Mum's with a picture of each of my parents on their wedding day in it, I will be wearing that so that they are with me.

Do whatever you feel comfortable with.

So sorry to hear about your Dad Donna, my thoughts are with you at this sad time.

MrsC2Be it made the florist laugh as well when I requested it, He was such a funny bloke! In our church there are glass panes on the very last pews so we are thinking of getting a nice framed picture of the relatives who have passed and placing them on the shelf, so its like they really are there with us.

My Dad passed away when I was 16, I have brought my brother up as my mum had left.... initially I was walking down the aisle alone. I dont feel like its necessary for somebody to give you away/walk you down the aisle.

Note: my sons doing it for me because hes too shy to walk down the aisle without me. haha xx

You can get little charms made which attach to your bouquet where you can put a picture in, my fiancée and I both lost our Grandfathers (who would have walked us both down the aisle) and we're having the charms so they're still walking with us down the aisle.

Plus you won't really be walking down the aisle alone, I'm sure he will be with you every step of the way x
