Just wondered for those of you who are having a veil. are you planning to wear it all the time or take it off? thinking i want to wear mine for the first dance but not sure if it will annoy me during the meal

As I haven't found me dress yet I'm not sure on the veil- I've always said I would have one and that I would wear it until meal and then take it off as like you I think it will annoy me :-)

I took mine off after speeches just before the starter came out. I didn't want to dance wearing it :)

I had a cathedral length vail, I had on until the wedding berakfast. It started to really annoy me (it nearly go in my food lol!). So I took it off then put it back in again for cutting the cake and the first dance. I then took it off again as it was just getting annoying again lol. I think it depends on how long your vail is? Xx

Mine came off after the receiving line before we had our big entrance at the start of the wedding breakfast. I think if I'd had a fingertip length one I'd have kept it in longer but mine was a cathedral length one so was getting in the way.

I planned on keeping mine on until after the meal but it kept getting pulled off accidently during the receiving line haha about 4 different people tried to put it back but it just wouldn't stay. You should take it off whenever you feel comfortable :) xx

It depends on how long and comfy it is for you, I never had one for my second wedding, but the first wedding it came off at the reception.

Probably take mine off after the 1st dance depending on how I feel having it on during our meal x

thanks ladies. mine is a cathedral length veil so im getting the impression it may start annoying me and getting in the way before the meal. will see how it feels and just go from there. not sure if it would get in the way for 1st dance aswell x

I like the idea of having it on for the first dance but I imagine it may come off before then if it annoys me. Plus OH may get all tangled in it during the first dance (not that we're doing anything special for it) so maybe after we cut the cake. X

I love mine but is cathedral length so will probably come off for meal. Like the idea of putting it back on for first dance but I can see that being forgotten.

I kept it on the whole day. I had it underneath my hair updo at the nape of my neck. It was about waist length

I will probably take mine off part way through the photos as not sure I want to be wearing it in every single photo... will definitely have it off by the wedding breakfast anyway. And as a few others have said I think it would be nice to wear it during the first dance xx

I'm wearing a cathedral length veil and I love it so much I'd love to have it for the first dance but I can see it easily getting in the way or coming out before then but the amount it cost I want to wear it for as long as bloody possible!

I'm not 100% decided on a veil yet, will depend on the dress and things, but I'm thinking of an elbow-length ribbon-edged drop veil which I'll probably only keep on for the ceremony and a few of the photos.

I've just got our photos back and it's quite nice having some (before meal) where I am wearing the veil, and the photos after the meal as the sun was setting I have no veil so my hair and back are on show. Mine was a fingertip length veil with sparkly droplets on the edge.
