its the jennifer trust hun my daughter has sma (spinal muscular dystrophy type2/3)
muscular dystrophy is a form of muscle weakness her's is caused by it only sending from the brain very slower than it should but gets extremly weaker by the time it travels down to the bottom of her spine making her weaker on her legs. there is a very lot of differnt types of dystrophy and varietys and severitys thankfull she has one of the lesser severe types x

she has a wheelchair but atm she is lucky and doesnt need to use it often, she gets tired easily, struggles on even slight ups of roads paths etc and especially with the stairs but is stuborn and doesnt want to use it but thats a good thing cause it will keep her legs stronger for longer. shes due her first op at the end of this month to try give her more flexibility as they are really tight so hopefully that will help her.She may end up in a wheelchair more permanantly but for now shes doin quiet well we dont know what will happen we just know the possibilitys,main things we have to keep an eye on are her spine for curvature and her heart cause obviousley thats is a muscle with age she will no doubt deteriorate but liek i said were lucky she has type 2/3 so she should be able t have a fullfilled life just with boundries on things she cant do,she didnt learn to ride a bike till she was 8 cause she couldnt pedal as she was to weak but she persevered and got there in the end again she cant do to far or any slight hill's but its good enough,she cant swim :-( but were goin to get her in which will hopefull give her excersices the ability to swim and confidence that she can do things if she trys just waiting for the weather to pick up cause i dont want her gettin a cold takes her ages to get rid off. x

admitedly i was the same cried alot but now i am used to it well not used to it its hard when i see her struggling but i am learning to live with it hey if she can i should be able to. shes brave but normal gobby cheecki lil swine lol that i could throttle some days haha. but thanks and i will do xx
