It's against the rules to offer free p+p then say further down p+p is £20 right? I love the dress, but as a seller myself i know the max it costs for SD is £13.30 ¬.¬ grr.

i thought it was a law bidding bid so if the seller states free and doesnt make it clear in the listing that the free pp is for collection only then i cant see its right but i know people on there do it ! its makes ya mad

I just sent them a message saying i was confused as to whether the p+p was free or not, she sent a message back saying it £20 so I suggested she states it in the p+p section because otherwise there's bounds to be tons of other people getting confused too! And Hayley, some sellers are good an offer free p+p, it usually says if it's pick up only, this dress isn't for pick up x

Sounds a bit iffy to me :S
I tried to sell a wedding dress on ebay once and for Royal Mail SD postage was about £12, packaging another £4, but no way was it £20
    *hmmmmmm*
What's the feedback score like? How much is the dress? Does it still work out as safe as but cheaper than buying from a dress shop at sale time? All things to consider ;)

    It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

no idea, there is a link to the dress on my wall so you can see what i mean, and she has no feedback, she's a new seller, another reason im hesitant, has she has other clothes and items on there and has straight up, put up the p+p costs, I also looked on the makers website she said made it and couldn't find it x

It does say at the bottom that p&p is £20, but will be free if bidding goes over £100, it really is a lovely dress, and if you win it for less than £99 its still only going to cost max £119 with the p&p, which is pretty reasonable, although if I thought I was going to win it for anything over £80, I would just bid £100 as it would work out cheaper. I guess there is always a risk with ebay.

Report her. Its circumvention of fees - eg: Shes stating free P&P so she doesnt get charged as much by ebay!

I know, it's just more the stress i dont want to deal with lol, as we don't have much money at all at the moment, it has come up at a really bad time for us. I'll have to see what the OH says about me having some money from the next payment lol. We have too many catalogue purchases to pay off from when we moved in :(

This happened to me once....advertised free postage and then when I had bought the item an extra £20 in p&p was added. The reaons for this was because the item was coming from the states....and free p&p was for bidders living in the area! x

i would keep the picture and see if you can get someone to make it. it def sounds like a dodgy seller. is it one of the categories where you have to offer free postage (i hate it when it does that!) coz may be she decided to just add it on later as she couldn't put the p&p in the listing x

no it's not as it's clothing, it its norm first class you cant charge more than £4, you can charge more for SD BUT i sell clothes on there occasionally and the most i've ever been charge for SD is £13.30 and that was for about 3 pairs of jeans which are quite heavy. and have asked a dressmaker on facebook and she will work to our budget the only problem will be if i have to have dress fittings as shes in london, and have to work out how much we can afford for a dress because it isnt much.

momari its not the point, she should have stated it in the p+p section, if you give more than one postage option you can charge more than £4 for postage for things like SD. It's the fact she's put in the listing near the bottom which is suspicious, nevermind the fact it goes against ebay rules.

but did you say she states that if the dress goes for more than 100 it will be free? if she had listed the p&p in the right place she couldnt have offerered it free as ebay automatically adds the p&p price when u pay....just an idea but may be why she did it that way, and she has clearly listed it its not like she hid the price just moved it so she could offer the free P&P over 100 quid
