Hi, I've been invited to an evening reception and the couple have requested travel vouchers as gifts... What sort of amount should I be looking at spending??

I'd spend £40 ish for all day so maybe £15-20? Obviously it's personal choice because everyone gives differing amounts that you are comfortable with. That's only if I know the couple well, if not I'd just give a card for evening only x

Everyone is different and as kelbel says it depends on how well you know the person, I'd put in £30 for someone I knew but not very close to, if it was on of my closer friends I'd put in £50

I agree- I believe rule of thumb is generally to try and spend what they will have spent on you - so if its just an evening do and you go as a couple £20 allowing £10 per head, if they are very close to you though you may want to give more - I would probably give £30.

If I was invited to the full day event I would be more inclined to give a larger sum.... we are also asking for travel vouchers xx

It's up to you and what you can afford.

We have been invited to an evening reception, where the couple haven't included a gift list or a money poem, but we are planning on giving them a card with £20 in or possibly a gift voucher (probably go with £20 though as it is more useful then a gift voucher)
