I was 100% against this when I knew I was having my dream dress, that was costing me far too much money as it is, but now i'm no longer having that dress, and if I end up buying a cheap 2nd hand one/ charity shop one, I'm well up for doing it. Think my photographer would love to try this! he's not done any before but he's a fashion photographer, so would love something like this in his portfolio. Some of the online pictures are amazing!! x

I can understand trashing your dress if you bought for around £50 but no way would I trash one that is 100s of ££££ that's insane. I'm going to try to fit into mine for a few years yet and I've told h2b that I will be doing the housework in it to make me feel spesh.

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013

Hmm, I've seen some of the photoshoots like this and I'm not sure I'm a fan...I do like the idea of wearing it again and getting some lovely pics, but I think I'd be heartbroken if it was wrecked - not to mention the guilt over the money! I feel guilty enough about spending such an amount on something that's only worn once anyway! :/

I do agree the trash your dress photos are are lovely, but I don't think I could do it. Maybe in a cheap 2nd dress I could, but I'm making mine, so a lot of hard work, sweat and tears will be going into my dress.

My dress is likely to be a 50's style knee length dress and won't be very expensive so I'm not worried about getting it dirty! We're going to the fair a couple of days after the wedding and having some shots done there. If it gets dirty or damaged then it's not the end of the world. If you think you'll get some shots that are worth possibly ruining your dress then go for it - most brides don't wear the dress again.

My photographer friend does "trash the dress" and she has told me, that if i don't actually want to "trash" the dress, she could take some shots that look like trashing it when actually your not! It all depends on camera angle, scenery, lighting etc etc.
I think I'll be doing that and then selling mine, don't see the point in spending all that money to wear it once, then keep it locked away in a cupboard!

Doing it the day after the wedding is a bit soon in my opinion! Day after the wedding I'd be wanting to chill with me new husband and enjoy our first day of married life together.

That said I've got a trash the dress booked. Don't mind getting it dirty, not sure if I'll rip it to shreds or not though. I'm just going to run with it and see where it goes.

At end the of the day if your not going to sell your dress or keep it for a daughter's wedding/christening dress then what are you going to do with it? Stick it in the cupboard and wear it at your funeral? Lol. Doing nothing with an expensive dress you'll never wear again makes as much sense as having fun in it, possibly destroying it and never wearing it again. Either way- you're never gonna wear it again!

I couldn't think of anything worse than 'trashing' my dress - after all, I paid enough for it, I couldn't imagine it get ruined in any way. I even managed to wear it twice - once for our wedding and the second time for our evening reception back home, after we got back from honeymoon. Now it's bagged and hanging in the wardrobe.

you dont ruin your dress. (well some do) but you put it on and do things in it that you didnt do on your wedding day...
sitting on a pretty swing, sitting among flowers....in some old ruins....gone with the wind type of stuff.

you can still do it, get hubby to take you to a gorgeous place, and a camera and you're all set.
