    Hi everyone,

Me and my h2b have been thinking long and hard about the Top Table ideas. My family is all a little messed up, so having a family top table wouldn't work as much.
We have had two ideas, either a sweetheart table or a bridesmaids and grooms men table.
The only thing is, we have no idea on how to make the sweetheart table look nice. Can anyone suggest any ideas?
    Thank you :) xx

I think a bm/groomsmen table would be good. You at least have people you love at your table.

I think both idea's are lovely, I've seen sweetheart tables before done in a number of ways. Personally I think if you go for a sweetheart table you should still be sat in a top table position (I've seen them hidden away and I think that's a little weird) that way you just treat it like a top table anyway but its much smaller.

Or have your bridesmaids and groomsmen on a table with you, either as a top table or as a round table like everyone else. My friend didn't have a top table at her wedding

We are having a sweetheart table, in a central position in the room. It took a bit of persuading and I get odd looks when I tell people but it makes perfect sense for us. I've spoken to two florists about how to decorate our sweetheart table, their suggestions included having 4 x cube vases with flowers to match the tall centrepieces on the other tables; using Mr and Mrs signs/blocks; one even said we could have a traditional top table flower arrangement on our sweetheart table but personally I think that would look too much.

We are not having a top table as such! Due to family politics (what else!) It is going to be just Me and my H2B on one small table then about 5 big round tables so everyone can sit with each other! We were having nightmares about arguments as why so and so was sitting with us and they weren't!

We're going very out the box and having the top table as a horse shoe (this is because I don't get on with my mum or my MIL, they wouldn't be happy if they weren't on the top table regardless of the fact that neither deserve that honor, so this is my compromise still on TT just as far away from me as possible) The back table (facing the rest of the room) will be me and h2b and our daughter with bridesmaids and groomsmen, then the two tables attached to it (to make the horse shoe) will be my family to the right and his to the left, with any luck this will prove to be less stressful.

We aren't having a top table, just a sweetheart table for me and OH, everybody else will just sit wherever they like. There have been far too many arguments to even begin to try and do a table plan!

I have to do a table plan to keep certain people away from each what a nightmare lol! already going to upset one sister because if another other sister decides to come I have to keep them apart and will have to have the other sister sit with them who drives her mad! haha also need to keep a certain sister away from certain friends due to her potty mouth and will end up embarrassing me! She will be sitting with my mum and step dad so can be kept an eye on that she don't drink too much as well!

You could make it stand out by having the table clothes and runner (if your are having this) the other way round. You don't want to over load it with stuff though as it will only make it seem crowded. Maybe some special lighting behind it or under the table (if that makes sense) or depending on your decor, a surrounding around it.
