Can someone tell me traditionally who should sit were?

I'm having serious issues about who to sit were and would like to know who traditionally sits were.

Should the groom be to my left or right?

    Thanks

Brides on the left and groom on the right I think, for the top table and during the ceremony for seats :)

Our top table will be my mum, my dad, me, OH, his mum and his 2 best men if that helps (his dad is one of his best men).

I think traditionally you are meant to mix the sets up parents up? So MOB would be sat with FOG and FOB would be sat with MOG.. I think.. !

    Traditionally its MOH,FOTG,MOTG,groom,bride,FOTB,MOTB,BM

I think its so it goes man, woman, man etc etc but its entirely upto you, were playing with the idea of just me and OH as MIL is a chatterbox who wants in on all conversations and we want to be able to speak to each other without people ear wigging and because I have on sister as BM but the other would rather be dead than wear a dress (autism) so I don't want to leave her out as everyone else will be on top table. FIL won't be there either so its could be heavy on one side unless I don't have my sister on top table, move BM to OH side but then place him between OH and mil......aarrgghhh!!!

Had a think about it and think it's going to go like this

Bridesmaid, our son, my mum, Groom, bride, my dad, mil, bestman.

Not sure about having my sister (BM) next to Connor so the alternative top table is this

Mil, My dad, bridesmaid, groom, bride, bestman, my mum, our son

From left to right I am having:

    Bridesmaid...Maid of honor...Grooms father...My mum...H2B...Me...My dad...Grooms mum...Best man

If I had more than 2 bridesmaids I would only sit my maid of honor on the top table :)

I was seated on the left actually and hubby to my right, but we never had a traditional top table as we have 7 kids between us and I wanted it to be their day as well joining as a family so they were on the top table with us.

G00g13 wedding etiquette, the correct and traditional order will be on one of those sites.

We didn't bother with it though as we had a traditional Chinese round table and just sat our family where we wanted them to go. Hubby to my left hand side, FIL to his left then going around FIL's gf, SIL hubby, niece (our FG), niece (baby in high chair), SIL, my BIL, my sister, my mum and my dad to my right.

We had a round table instead of a traditional top table, mainly due to space but also because we wanted to actually be able to see and talk to each other. It went: me; my dad; my mum; my brother; my chief bridesmaid; the best man; OH's dad; OH (his mum was sat on a different table as we didn't want to her on the top table with us). Traditionally the order is as SammieB described but a lot of do their own thing now for various reasons (family rifts/divorce, children before marriage, etc).
