Is there any way of increasing the size of the top half of my dress? I bought it last year, and have lost weight to fit into it. It fits me waist downwards, but won't go round my back. It is already a corset back. Can extra panels be added to make it bigger?

I've got the same issue but apparently part of the back has been sewn too far over so should be able to get it moved over hopefully! Xxx

Phew! All is not lost.....yet then. Thank you so much for the replies. It's my dream dress, and will be so upset if I have to buy another (when i haven't set my heart on any other). Does anyone recommend a good seamstress in the north west?

A good seamstress will be able to sort it for you Hun so don't worry! Most dresses are made with another inch available from the seams anyway and larger back panels can be added if it still needs a bit extra. You will be fine :) xx

I didn't end up going to the place in Chorley. I found another place in Wilmslow. I took my dress today, and they did some measuring of the top etc, and I have left it with them. The main thing is, it can be made bigger, and I can finally start to look forward to my wedding. Phewwwwwww

I had a text message yesterday from the alterations shop in Wilmslow, to say my dress was ready for the 2nd fitting. So happy. I'm going on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to actually seeing what the dress is like on now it should fit on top.

Claire it's here! First fitting wasn't great as I've lost that much weight the dress didn't really flatter me but hoping when it's all altered it'll be better!

Booo they phoned and cancelled my appointment today saying the seamstress wasn't in, and have re-scheduled for next Tuesday.
Oh well.

Finally got my dress home!! It fits perfectly. Although they have done a good job, I would not recommend them based on the messing about they have done. Anyway....phew!
