so 2016 has kickstarted to a good start for us :D within the first 10 days of the new year we have the deposit down on our venue, the cake is paid for and i have just completed my save the dates today. We have saved on so much money already on just these 3 items i was being charged £300 for save the dates and invitations yet only paid £20 for my save the dates by doing them myself!!! might cost double of that for the invites as ill need a new printing cartridge but I've saved over £200 already! Same with the cake. we where told over £400 for the cake but after asking others about their cakes I've found a lady who's charging me 180!
Tried on my first dress swell and it was lovely however JESUS the cost was pathetic! I would not pay £1000+ for a dress! she was trying to tell me how paying out for that but going skint on other things i want is better! dont think so I loved my first dress but was not IN LOVE with it so back to the drawing board! so happy things are finally booked! and a start! now its to start paying for everything!

Great news on all your savings :) it's nice now we can start planning and paying for things. I got my dress for £500 including alterations, I'd never dream of paying £1000+ for a dress you're only going to wear once. We're currently looking for a wedding car and we found one we loved but someone has already booked it for the same date we wanted :( x

Well done on your savings. We added up what we have spent so far and it's looking really good at the mo :) Next thing for us is sorting the save the dates out. I tried a few different dresses on some were around 800 but the one I fell in love with was 582 then there was a further 15% 0ff so happy days :D
