We are wanting to buy both sets of parents a really thoughtful unique gift, as they have paid for most of our wedding. Does anyone have any suggestions other than alcohol and flowers? Also stuck for ideas on what gifts to get for bridesmaids and best men... What has everyone else bought?

Hi, for my bridesmaids i have bought them a pearl set each, this will be their jewellery on the day, i am also paying for their beauty treatments (hair, nails, spray tan etc). Best man i was thinking an engraved pint glass :-/ he also has cufflinks and socks to wear on the day and a best man survival kit! I'm pretty stuck on parents tho so will follow this feed lol!!

Maybe a meal out in their fav restaurant? or a theatre trip? Costs can build up so much though lol xx

We're undecided on the groomsmen at the moment; we've offered to pay towards their hotel rooms as our venue is pricey but we'd like them to stay, but they've refused.

For the bridesmaids I've bought them all different things:

MOH: Leg0 bride and groom set; large gold-plated and white topaz ring

Bridesmaid 1: Australian green opal stud earrings. They will match her dress, green looks amazing on her and she'll wear them again, and she's moving permanently to Australia after the wedding so it's kind of fitting :-)

Bridesmaid 2: a thin 9ct yellow gold ring; she's wanted one for ages

Bridesmaid 3: a pearl and yellow gold pendant set also with a tiny diamond

Bridesmaid 4 (junior bridesmaid): not bought hers yet but probably a silver or white gold necklace, maybe with a pearl

I'm also going to get bridesmaid robes as a bit of fun for all of them, and personalised thank-you cards

With the parents, I'm not getting his anything; they've contributed sweet FA and his mother has caused huge amounts of stress and was not going to be invited until a couple of weeks ago, after she sent a 20 page letter slagging me off to about half a dozen people and we just couldn't cope. If inviting her gets her off our backs, so be it; I'll grin and bear it and rise above it just as I've been doing for the past 8.5 years.

For mine, I'm thinking tickets to the opera at the R0ya1 0per@ H0use. We've wanted to go for ages but they cost like £200. It's also my dad's birthday the same day as our wedding so I figured it could be kind of a joint gift as obv they're not cheap.

I am having the same problem.

I was thinking an engraved hip flask for the best man for the day. I love the idea of the best man survival kit! not quite sure what to put in it though if anyone has any ideas?

Jewellery for the bridesmaids and I am stuck for the parents.

Hi in really struggling on what to get my mum and her partner for a thank you gift as they are paying for my wedding dress jewellery and all the other bits to go with my dress when i finally choose one and are also paying a substantial amount towards the venue we have booked. However in unsure what to get them as i don't want to make anyone else feel as though they were treated differently due to no contributions or smaller contributions. I want something a bit different but not too big on price as im a budget bride.
ive bought all my bridesmaids there dress hair piece and their up do and jewels plus pjs dressing gown smelly set for night before and a mini lip gloss for the day along with a keepsake necklace for three and the other two i have got a keepsake keychain. Struggling on the usher was think a shot glass and a little alcoholic beverage. Dont no what to get the best man though do i get him same as ushers

I think we're going with flowers for the mams but I would like something a but different :/

Dads were still a little unsure on.

1 of the 2 best men is getting a personalised jäger bomb set ha! Probably do something similar for the other. Do we get something for ushers too though! They are IHs brother and my stepbrother.

Bridesmaids I'm getting their jewellery and something like a bridesmaid champagne glass or compact mirror etc

Oh were did you get the jagerbomb sets from sounds like a good idea. Well in getting my ushers something as they are helping walk bridesmaid down aisle and helping guests to their seats so think its polite to get them a thank you gift too.

I'm going to give most of the bridesmaids gift cards, so that they can treat themselves to something that they want. The little flowergirl, who is 7, will probably get some jewellery, as I remember loving to have "grown-up jewellery" when I was her age. Most of the ushers I think will get a bottle of something, as they'll all be happy with that. We'll need something different for the 16 year old though. I haven't come up with any alternatives for parents though, at the moment the mums are getting flowers and the dads bottles, but we'll make sure that the bottles are really nice drinks.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I think we are getting our little flower girl a bear factory bear with an outfit similar to the one she will be wearing on the day. as for bridesmaids im very torn, i want to get something worth while and that they are going to keep but nothing too expensive. We were thinking something like a personalised beer glass for best man and ushers and parents.... no idea!! xx

Thanks for your comments girls, I've decided on bridesmaids gifts - I've got them all a pearl bracelet with a heart charm on it saying bridesmaid. also matching playsuit pajamas for the morning of the wedding (and theirs to keep). Ive got a friend who sparkles up wine glasses and spirit/wine bottles which look pretty cool too. Had a look on ************************* some lovely things on their if anyone is interested :-)
