I'm naturally very white and want a have a slight tan before my wedding. I don't want a fake tan because when I go on my honeymoon I want to get browner - not whiter (as my fake tan fades). Plus I don't want the worry of going orange.

Therefore I am going to have a few sun beds before the big day. However, I'm not sure when I should start, how many I should have and how far apart they should be.

    Can anyone help?

When I used to use them for the first 2 weeks I would go on 3 times a week for 3 minutes each time, then from then on once a week for 6 minutes. It took about a month for a nice natural tan colour and it was perfectly even :)

I will be going on the sunbed before the wedding and at first will be going on three times a week and then will change it to once a week. I will be starting at Christmas and get married 8th march. Depends on your skin to how fast you will tan x x

I'm odd - I go dark in the sunlight but on a sunbed I don't really change colour... bizairre.

was thinking about a spray tan but think I'll give it a miss in case it rubs off...

my natural skin colour is olive-ish though so I don't ever look really really pale

I go on the sunbeds about once a week through the winter to give me some colour to my skin and makes me feel better. However i hate the lie down beds (final destination 3 scared me) and dont like the idea of lying down on someone else's sweat and stand up sun beds are much more hygenic and so easy to use. I would also recommended you use a tanning lotion, salons sell them for about £1 as helps you get a more even tan and moistures your skin.

I always thought I' have spray tan but reading this made me think subbed might be better as I have never had spray tan and always hear about people going orange and having patches, but then worry about sun bed stories too lol. How do u know how far in advance to start using the beds and how often to use them? X

A spray tan shouldnt go orange or rub off if done properly honey. Everyone's skin is different with a sun bed as the same as the sun... i look at the sun and go brown so dont need alot but equally some people need loads. I suggest you try a local sun salon and see how you get on.... start with 3 minutes and see how your skin copes and how you feel. I have never done more than 6 minutes in one go as makes me giddy but i have friends that go for 12 minutes so everyone is different. xxx

Sun beds scare me. I'd much rather get a good quality spray tan x

Emma, defo have a spray tan to test it out. I had one earlier this year to see and despite washing it off at the minimum time to leave it on for a light colour it was sooooooooooooo dark! I looked riduculous and H2B hated it! I'm normally fairly pale and so a couple of people I know who are more in to tanning said it looked fine but I think as it was such a step away from my normal self it really didn't suit me. Plus it was a real pain getting my make up right with it on, I was going to a wedding and had to buy a whole new foundation, powder and concealer to go with my super brown face!

I haven't used sunbeds since i was at uni - about 10 years ago now - but i think I might consider it just for a couple of months in the run up to the wedding.

    Lizzy. x

I'm defo guna do a test run of both as i use to be lovely and tanned but when I hit 16 I went really pale and have been ever since. To the point people think I'm ill if I have no mascara on lol. jillian if I was you I'd speak to a few salons and see what they recommend and if you have enough time on run up to wedding have a trial run so you know how long before you get to the colour u like. X
