Hi everyone, I am getting married in 2017 so yes I am starting early with my planning but team that with graduating from uni, illness, and a 1 year old daughter, I am going to need the three years to plan everything efficiently. I am using the UKbride table planner and I am struggling to think of where to place everybody. We have POB and POG who are going to be on the top table, definitely. I don't know whether we should pt our best woman and chief bridesmaid up on the top table too (we haven't really got a chief bridesmaid, just two bridesmaids who I am sure would pretty much do anything for us). The only issue we have about putting those up on the top table is that the best woman is coming over from America with her boyfriend for the wedding so doesn't know anybody, least of all her boyfriend and if we place the best woman on the top table, where would we put her boyfriend? With our friends?.. there will only be very few of our friends there. Another issue is that if we just have our parents up on the top table, how would we go about speeches if the best woman or chief bridesmaid wanted to make one? Is anybody else having these problems?

congrats, and no worried about having so long will so pass by, I also will of had a 3 &1/2 year engagment, and my daughter is coming up 3 so will be nearly 4 at the wedding.
Im not having my MOH on the table as she has a husband and kids, and were not having any parents on our table either, each parents are going to host there own table, so we are just having our friends (without kids) on our table, our daughter is going to be with my mum, but the kids will be mainly in the other room as have organised entertainment for them.

Have what you want, you dont have to stick to the status quo.

I was thinking of having a kids table (or two, depending on how many kids will be attending). Our daughter will also be 4 when we get married. Both of our bridesmaids also have a husband and children (first bridesmaid is my sister in law to be, and second bridesmaid is my h2b's sister in law). I never actually thought about having just our friends on our table but I would be worried that my parents and parents in law would feel slightly upset that they didn't get to spend that with us. Is this an issue for you with your parents etc? x

I feel like a freak when I say that I actually managed to sort out my tables within 2 nights out of boredem :-S top table is going to be BM-CBM-MOH-BRIDE-GROOM-BMAN-MIL-FIL. I think what makes it easy for me is that my parents aren't in the picture though.

Saying all this... it's going to likely be a pain nearer the time when it comes to RSVPs

No, we have said that is what we want , this way they get to sit with there friends and family they don't get to see often. I would no way enjoy my day as much being stuck sat with his parents (well mum) and can't qualify my mum on our table but not his parents, plus as much as they get on in sure oh can think of other people he would prefer there. and have pitched at as this way more people have main family/wedding party on there table. Hopeful my aunty will be coming from oz so then my mum gets more time to hang out/chart with her.

How are you planning speeches, if you are doing speeches? Will those doing speaches just stand up at their table or will they walk up to the front so everybody can see them? Lana2BMrsHands?
VictoriaL46, do your bridesmaid etc have husbands/boyfriends/children etc? If so, are they just going to sit together with bridesmaids on your table? X

Or venue has a wireless mike and we are going to keep the people who 'should'be on the top table central and will just stand up in there place to do there speech.

I think I may have to ask on my next trip to the venue (my parents want to have a look around) about microphones and where they will be placed in order to get a better idea of how the speeches will work out. I don't even know if I feel confident enough to make a speech but at the same time I think it would be a lovely gesture towards my h2b! x
