My parents have been married 30 years in November, I'm thinking of organising vow renewal at the church they got married as a suprise not tell them till the day. I was going to get a cake, invite people (just go for a carvery after where everyone pays for themselfs) get some one to do mums hair and make up and I was going to buy their clothes. I'm going to get one brother to pay for mum and dads meal as well as paying for their own, and my other brother to pay half for the cake. I'm going to be paying the £100 for the renewal, half the cake and the clothes.
What does everyone think?

It will be a great idea my uncle suprised my auntie by doing it last month got a marquee in the back garden and got the vicar to come around and got all the bridesmaids they had to put on somthing purple as that was their colour it was really nice as it was a surprise hope u can do it hun it will be a lovely present xxx

Becky, it's not in my nature to lie about anything I just can't do it. Plus my childhood was built around lies and my brother doesn't go a day without lying, most of the lies were trying to protect me from the lies he told.
Good news though it's back on although not a surprise anymore mums agreed to it on the condition I do Tver anything for her birthday, her birthday is November 27th the anniversary is 28th November. The renewal is now going to take place on the 26th as my auntie can't make the Monday. I'm so happy I can do it. The church is £100 and I've put aside £500 for it with clothes cake etc. Im making invites for family myself. So should make it a good day for them, if there's any left I'm going to get a b&b somewhere nice for the night too on the Sunday night so mums birthday and their Actual anniversary xx
